Litcessory Extension Cable for LIFX Z Lightstrips (3.3ft, 2 Pack, White)

These are great, and the perfect solution for connecting 2 strips over areas that you don’t want light and that you also need to bend or change direction. The lifx Z strips cannot be bent at 90 degree angles or more and so these are simple but flexible and adjustable. They connect easily and work great!

I used this as directed, placed between the controller and the first light strip (I tried with 4 strips, and 2 strips). The LIFX app could only see the first light strip. It knew there were other strips but couldn't see their color or status. I tried the reset process several times. It would detect the strips but they never worked right. Themes wouldn't work at all. And very often the app could only control the first strip and the other strips remained on the old setting. Also, the white LEDs would occasionally flicker or flash. All these problems went away when the extension was removed. Also, the plug isn't a very good fit for LIFX. The cable has 4 equally-spaced pins but in LIFX there is one pin clearly spaced farther away than the others (see their pics above). So the extension doesn't fit very well anyway.

This cable works perfectly with LifX light strips, unlike what some people say. The connector just needs to be plugged in the RIGHT way, taking special note of that extra pin at the end and matching it with the connector. If you plug it in the wrong way then you'll have problems. This did the job and no function or brightness loss.

The product is what I expected, however, the connectors do not stay connected, they slide apart very easily. Now I have to rig some way to keep them plugged in...

This cables are perfect for the Lifx lightstrip, including the unique slightly wider distance between 2 pins, so it was exclusevely designed for this product. The lenght is as advertised, the connection with the strip is strong, even stronger than between 2 40" sections, and is very mealleable and easy to work with it. The only reason i don't give it 5 stars is because one of the cables came with a small defect on the plastic cover, which i solved with a bit of white electrical tape, just in case.

When I bought my LIFX light strip, I needed an extension to connect my lights. I needed the lights to extend further and so I went on a search. Much of what is on amazon are 2-3 pin connectors, not the full four pin which the LIFX lights needs. I found these opened them up, and ran the strip. Works wonderfully and never had any issues.

These are NOT compatible with LIFX! LIFX connectors have a space between one of the wires and the other three, I imagine to prevent plugging in backwards. The advertise that plugging them in backwards is easily fixed, but in reality, it will fry your controller. I have now lost TWO controllers thinking the LIFX was faulty when in reality, this product fried the controller since you can easily plug it in backwards. Also, there was a coupling converter for the wire that came out and got stuck in my controller adapter, so I definitely plugged it in backwards which fries the controller permanently. DO NOT BUY!

I used these extenders in between 4 LIFX Z strips to backlight the bar in my shop. I connected two of the extenders together in some areas to get the length in between that I needed. They worked just fine without any issues. They’re expensive for what they are, but so are the LIFX strips. If you need the extenders for your application they worked as advertised well for me.

I'm not sure why some reviews say this extension doesn't work with Lifx LED strips, but it does flawless. I have a kitchen counter with almost 6m long with an L shape. I had to make a 90º turn at 5m and did it with one of these extensions. It just works, of course it does, it's just cables.

The 4th pin of this extension cable plainly does not line up with the LIFX connector, it can be forced in at an angle (bent) but that's obviously not right, nor good for your expensive Z Strip. It's also too bulky to fit under the arched lip of the Z Strip cable so the pins don't go all the way in, when using the 3m adapter-to-strip extension. You could cut the lip off but you shouldn't have to hack up your genuine adapter to suit this generic product. Result is a barely-connected and potentially-damaged strip, either flashing green on the end or cycling red-green-blue. If these guys can get away with advertising this as "specifically designed for LIFX" you have to wonder what else is fishy on Amazon.

Useful. Be careful of pins, one end is slightly asymmetrical, bigger gap, it affected polarity. It didn’t damage when corrected. Recommend.

Product simply does not work with LIFX Z strips.

Worked like a charm, 3 1m strips with a single 1m cable between, connecters took a firm push but were lined up perfectly. None of the issues commonly reported. Just a shame theres a 1m restriction between strips.
