It appears in my wifi list and I can connect to it with a great signal even but when I do I lose internet ...
I'm sure if I put more effort into it I could probably troubleshoot my issue but the fact that someone as technically inclined as I am even has an issue in the first place is reason enough to think ill of this product.I plugged it in, I connected to it on my laptop [Ouch, no 5ghz bandwith /cries], I went to the website it told me to and setup the device. It appears in my wifi list and I can connect to it with a great signal even but when I do I lose internet connection completely. So the device apparently isn't repeating the internet connection from my router. The signal strength is great on my cell phone as well but it fails to obtain an IP address so it cannot connect to the internet.I might look into it again tomorrow. I still haven't tried restarting my laptop or my cell phone to see if it would fix the issue I suppose I will try that next. Overall, I'm just not satisfied.I will say that if I did have internet connectivity, the signal strength does appear to be pretty solid! So I'm sure that it would work well.Update: I looked into it some more and I still don't see what the issue could possibly be. After reading the most recent reviews of the last couple of weeks [after I bought it of course :(] I have to assume that it's a bad product.

It is useless as a repeater
It is useless as a repeater. Internet speed is half of what it is when connected directly to the main router. I get 100Mb/s from the main router if PC is connected directly to it via LAN. In my basement I get 10Mb/s via WiFi without this repeater, and only 5Mb/'s with this repeater. The purpose of a repeater is to boost Internet connection speed. But it DOES NOT BOOST THE SIGNAL! I plugged this reapeater into a jack half-way between the router and basement PC, connected PC to it via WiFi, and the PC shows strong WIFI coonnecton to this repeater, but the Internet speed is still weaker, so what's the point? I will try to get a long ethernet cable and connect repeater to PC via LAN and report on the speed later, but it''s not what I bought it for! Also, this repeater comes with VERY VERY SHORT ethernet cable.

Doesn't work/ Computer Science Major
I have a degree in computer science and have attempted for weeks to connect my Ethernet-only devices to this unit so that they may have WiFi in a separate room from my router. The hardware and interface is completely unusable for modern computers to set up. Rather than being able to connect directly to your WiFi within the device you must connect through another computers Ethernet and attempt to connect the units hard coded IP address to your routers address. It is extremely inconvenient and will not work 99% of the time. If it does manage to connect it still will not connect other devices to the enternet which is why I bought it.Don't buy it.

Setup should be easy... but isn't.
Positive: I eventually got it to work, and it has improved WiFi coverage in my house which is just a little too big for a single router.Negative: The instructions are terrible. I maintain a multitude of wireless devices for my family, and consider myself to be fairly tech-savvy. Setting up this repeater was unnecessarily challenging, due largely to an instruction booklet which has an illogical layout, and uses an awkward style of English.

I thought this item would be promising seeing the high ratio of good to bad reviews but I am really disappointed in the product. While it shows the product boosting wifi signals around a house, this is incredible unrealistic. When I got this device I set it up in 3 different places once downstairs, where it didn't get any signal from the router. Second upstairs (the floor my router is on) but about 15 feet from the router, and it didn't get any signal from the router. Only when I set it up literally 2 feet away from the router did it actually get the signal from the router, and as you can imagine that didn't help at all.

Difficult to administer and slow throughput in my application
I am quite network savvy, but after 3 weeks of trying all modes in every possible configuration I gave up and returned the device for refund. The interface is difficult to manage, is missing some necessary management features, and I became locked out of further administering the device once it completed the setup due to it's static IP address for adminitration from the LAN. The device does not allow remote administration from the WAN My application was to stream between a PC and Chromecast with both devices connected to the Extender network. Doing what I need requires 6Mbps full duplex, a taxing requirement. The network speed was very poor through the Extender. I ended up buying a real Access Point and that is working at full speed. All the above being said, the device has more operating modes than most WiFi Extenders and it is less expensive. It may work in your network. It just was not suitable for me.

Could not read and understand instructions
Could not set up securely! The instructions were printed so small, I couldn't even read it with a magnifying glass. The instructions said if I had issues to call Amazon and when I did, I got someone to help that had such poor English, I couldn't understand her. I got so frustrated, I asked to return the item.

Complicated instructions.
I received the extender and really had difficulty at first getting it to connect yo my router. The directions are a little complicated for someone not so tech. I was about to return it and decided to give it another try. I did a manuel install and voila it worked and it works great. Because of the complicated instructions I gave it a 4 instead of a 5.
