I bought this to use with a mac mini and it works very well I have connected it using the firewire option, daisy chained through another drive. The only irritating thing was the need to remove all other external drives when connecting the unit for the first time. For some reason the unit drove the internal fan at full speed non stop after set up which is noisy. Restarting the system solved the problem. I emailed customer support both prior to and after purchase on each occasion they were brilliant. The unit is reasonably quite in operation and the fan only kicks in now and then when I am using it with video editing software. I need another unit and would certainly buy another, but as it is has only been a few weeks I will wait to see how reliable the drive turns out to be. The company will supply a VAT receipt if you need one. One thing to be aware of if you decide on the free delivery from Amazon, then Amazon will send the unit by myhermes rated 1.6 out of 10 and 36th out of 37 on trustpilot website.

This one does the job and is far better and more reliable than the Lacie.

It's working away but it is too soon to rate it fully

I purchased the CalDigit Tuff nano plus 2TB as a storage device to use with my 5th Generation iPad Pro. I also purchased the CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 cable to to get the best performance as the iPad Pro has Thunderbolt capability. I now also use it with my new 24-inch iMac which also has two Thunderbolt ports. For additional security I reformatted the drive to APFS Encrypted to add password protection. I’m not a technology geek but the performance I get using the Tuff nano plus with both the iPad Pro and 24-inch iMac surpasses my expectations.

Good hard drive

included parts definitly should include a usb 3.0 cable considering the whole idea behind this product is usb 3.0 capabilities.

I haven't really put it through the paces yet, but so far it's everything I was promised. The build quality is really great.
