Use as security lights. Dim light until i see it get brighter so i can check out whats going on. Perfect. Update: Aug. 24 2018 - These lights are great for around the outside of your house. I originally bought 4 and they've been outside running since Sept 2017. I can attest that these are reliable solar lights. Just had the first one go out due to battery dying. So either I replace the battery or get a new one. You won't be upset getting these. They aren't super bright so they don't blind you when the dim goes to full blast when its triggered. Great product. Lasted for just over a year.

I shopped different lights for a while before settling on these for a unique custom application. I needed some downlights that were solar powered and rigged enough to handle weather extremes to illuminate a custom street sign. It's been 6 months and they haven't experienced winter yet, but so far they are working flawlessly. They are not set for motion, and only for 1/4 brightness, which is more than enough. They last all night. As always I shop with the filters set for the top rated products. Some of the reviews I read on these lights said they had issues with water leaking inside the back plate. I easily remedied this potential problem by applying black 100% silicone around the frame at the solar panels and at the back plate, sealing off any potential weak points where water could get inside. So far there seems to be no issues. Very happy with these lights and can't complain about the price. If they can't handle the north Idaho winter, I'll update this review.

Overall I give it 4 stars only because it took me awhile to figure out the different modes since it didn't come with any instructions on how to set the modes. Also it's a bit of a pain to put it all together and set up. BUT the lights are very bright and the sensor so far seems to work at a good distance. We bought the 2 pack that as you can see in my picture are the ones on the right. The single one on the left over the single door is a different brand which I personally like better. That one came with a remote for easy switchable modes and it was much easier to install. All in all I would buy these again but will update my review after I get some good use out of them. Hopefully they last a very long time.

As some of you may know, the climate of Virginia is crazy. One day it could be raining, and another day may be sunny or snowing, or even foggy! I decided to buy these and I am glad they came in a pair of 2! It is perfect to light up a 2-sided sign! The brightness on these solar lights are surprisingly bright! I love the easy way to change the brightness with just one push of a button! The solar panels seem to be in high quality shape! I haven’t had any problems since I’ve installed them on my big sign outside! It was quite easy to install, no complaints on that. I must say I have not tried the motion detection, but I believe it must be great as well!

Had them up for about a month and they work great. Give off alot of light when triggered. Placed them on a chicken coop to spook any critters away if they are thinking about joining the chickens! Update! Had them little over a year. One is still working great, the other, not so great. It won't work at all. Just took it down to check it out. Full of water! Totally corroded! Now the difference, one was placed at an angle tilted up, it still works. The other was tilted down, it's full of water. This shouldn't matter as the discription states, WATER PROOF! Also, if it wasn't meant to be placed at the angle down then this should have been stated. Updated to 3stars.

These can stay on all night after charging in the sun all day. There are settings you can change to motion detection, but I haven’t used that. There are not many dusk to dawn lights that will stay on and make it all the way till dawn. Really like the newer design with the battery and solar collector on the light itself. Hopefully they will last. Mine have been working flawlessly for 2 months. Will update if this changes.

I will always start my review with the most important thing to know; you will charge these all day, install them, and then wait for them to light up, and...nothing. You must press the mode button for them to activate. If not, no light. Frankly, I was very skeptical about solar lights. These surprised me. They work well and the brightness of the light is, well, surprising. I read the reviews and programmed the modes accordingly. BTW - you can only do this at night or in a dark room. I used the dim setting with motion on full bright and guess what? They work. Tip - I installed these into the metal drip on the edge of the roof. I drilled a very small pilot hole to guide the screws in and installed accordingly. They are a little bulky but work extremely well. I am buying 2 more for the dark sides of the house. All in all, 5 stars so far.

Welp 2 months and a half and they are only lasting for a couple of hours before they completely die! When I got them they have a solid build and they light up quite nice. I set them in the low mode and they only got brighter if there was any motion. Placed them in a location to get the maximum amount of sun throughout the day. Sadly as I write this review, when once they lasted up to six hours then, now they last a couple of hours once it's nightfall. Not worth the money if you are going to buy solar. They look nice, but in the end you'll spend more money buying better ones and basically throwing money away buying these.

Excellent so far.

I purchased three of these units four years ago and generally they’ve been working fine. Recently, I intended on replacing the batteries as they were at the end of their life. When I had the units apart I noticed that approximately half the LEDs (18) on each of the units were inoperative. Notwithstanding the led failures I reordered another four units as I’m quite pleased with the light output and battery capacity.

Lights work well for 3 days, then one of them stop working at night. Poor customer support, don't recommend!
