Mercer Culinary Hell's Handle Fish Turner/Spatula, 3 Inch x 6 Inch

This spatula is AWESOME! We have had for 10 years, and we use it all the time. It is great to get food that has stuck, is super durable and we recommend for anyone who cooks meats, veggies, or bakes cookies or anything else you want to gently lift off a pan or baking sheet.

I love this spatula. I have been using it for a few years, but it belonged to my son, who now moved out of the house and took the spatula with him (he loves it too!). So, without hesitation or delay, I ordered a replacement. It is exactly the same one I have been using for years, so I know it well. It works perfectly and is super easy to clean with or without a dishwasher. It has just the perfect amount of spring to it an the size and shape are also just right. Simple item, but what a joy when it's just right!

Fish spatulas are a versatile tool to have in your kitchen; I use mine for nearly all my flipping and turning needs due to its shape and ability to get under things that a thicker wooden spatula just can’t. I use this with my cast-iron and stainless/carbon steel pans and pots, but don’t use this on any pans or pots that are coated. I use silicone-coated tongs, or bamboo/wood trivet tongs for grabbing and flipping things in my ceramic coated pans or enameled cast iron (ECI) Dutch ovens/pans. Very versatile and nimble, I reach for this as much as my steel tongs and bamboo trivet tongs. Gets under delicate items for turning and flipping without causing it to fall apart, which is no wonder why these have been used for delicate, flaky items like fish. Buy this, you’ll use it a lot. I’m ambidextrous, so picking between a left or right handed spatula was a little tricky for me, just get whichever one you hold your spatula in the most. It really doesn’t make a big difference what hand I hold it in, even though I bought the left-handed spatula the performance is fine in either hand for me..

I noticed some rust spots on my spatula blade after a few washes. It doesn't make it unusable, but it makes me question the quality of the stainless steel they are stamping to make the blades. There are also some small bumps on the handle. These were an intentional part of the design and...I'm not really sure why. All they do is make it a little less comfortable to hold in some positions. Otherwise, it gets the job done and the wide, molded, dishwasher safe handle is far preferable to a lot of other turner's handles.

Very well made. It's so good that I didn't send it back when I found my old one, a favorite, that was packed in a box.

The plastic handle isn’t fancy, but the angle is perfect and the spatula portion is thin but sturdy to do an excellent job.

At the time of this review, I'm currently attending Culinary school and the kit that the school provides is mostly Mercer based. This fish flipper works great! The edge is semi-sharp so that you can really dig under that fish to get the skin up and off the pan. The metal itself is on the stiffer side and not flimsy so it can apply a decent amount of pressure if you are trying to save that fish skin or flesh that might be stuck onto the pan. I wouldn't use this on a non-stick type pan as the edge is sharp enough that it could easily scrape off the coating. Great fish scraper, quality in the material and sure to last you many years if not your lifetime.

Very good fish turner, i bought it after watching ATK review on YouTube and never regretted. Flips steak, fish, burgers .... etc

Great quality spatula with comfortable handle. This will stand the test of time an works great with my carbon steel pans.

Another gem product from Mercer. Strong yet flexible fish spatula that works for flipping delicate fish, pancakes and damn near everything else. Use it for lifting cookies off your baking sheet. Also perfect for working in a cast iron pans that aren't afraid of metal utensils. The thin, sharp edge and the flexibility of this spatula provide near unmatched versatility. Every home cook needs to have one of these in their arsenal!
