I hunted for quite some time to find the right mailbox for my 1932 home. I love this mailbox - it's just what we were looking for. It's made very well and is sturdy enough to withstand any weather and regular use. Additionally, it's very roomy and even holds small packages. The top will stay up if needed. Like other posters, we installed without the paper hooks. No complaints by our mail woman. We also added a vintage address plague and porch light which really spruced up our covered porch.

This is a very nice, heavy duty, metal mailbox, with a nice leaf design. The cost makes this an item to splurge on. Be aware that if you need to return it, it is NOT free. It might cost eleven dollars to return it, so decide carefully to buy it, knowing you have to pay to return it. Otherwise, I recommend getting this mailbox. I think you’ll have the nicest mailbox on your street!!

Our existing mailbox had black paint that was peeling off after 20 years. I considered sandblasting(?) and repriming but fortunately found this one on Amazon, an exact replica of the existing one. I re-used the old screws and the existing holes in our siding. It looks great.

The color matches my light perfectly, the size is great, most mail from small to somewhat large will fit. I didn't use the newspaper legs, installed it without them. There's no holes or gaps where the legs go so you can't tell that there's "something" missing. It was simple to install, took about 2 minutes with a drill and a screwdriver. It's got a good amount of weight to it. It's not cheap, or light in weight, but it's not too heavy either. Very well made and sturdy. I love it. It was a great purchase.

It's a sturdy and heavy box. It's solid blackI bought gold paint to paint a few of the leaf designs and to show the lid because it blended into the box so much that I didn't readily see where I lifted the lid. Okay my eyes aren't great either! The lid is also quite heavy so it takes two hands to talkie out the mail. My last lightweight mailbox I could lift up the lid and it would stay open so I could get the mail. I would like it better if the lid had a lever to stay open. Like others I also skipped the bottom magazine hooks. I didn't need that much mailbox.

I has installed one of these 25 years ago and eventually the finish started to come of. It is a high quality cast aluminum product with a baked finish. Since it was mounted in brick, I didn't want to have old holes exposed. I searched on line and found the exact same mailbox. Amazon delivered it in 2 days and the old holes lined up perfectly 25 years later. I did get a black one because the old color fell out of style. Very pleased.

This took close to two weeks to get but it was well worth the wait! It is a very heavy cast aluminum mailbox. The lid is very heavy and the box is quite a bit larger than the cheap metal one you get at Home Depot or Menards, so I never have to worry about the mail sticking out or the lid not closing and my mail getting wet after the mail is put in. Very nice design on it and will hold just about anything that my mailman can put into it. I am very satisfied with my purchase, in fact even the mailman gave me a compliment when I installed it on my porch.
