Makes learning piano basics fun
I’m a senior citizen beginning piano for the first time. My piano teacher suggested I get this book after I had started with a couple of traditional beginner lesson books. It has helped me move along much quicker than I expected. The ability to scan the icon and see a video being played and the accompanying music function has made learning so much fun.

Fantastic book for adult learners!
I've purchased a stack of piano method books and this one is the best! It has SO MUCH to offer. It's very easy to understand and the step-by-step teaching method is great. The lessons move at a reasonable pace and I supplement it with a series on YouTube - Lets Play Piano Methods - where an extremely good music teacher guides you through the book page-by-page and plays each lesson and duets with the learner. In addition, the book includes QR codes so you can hear how each lesson should sound and you can watch one of the authors demonstrate technique. The authors have put considerable effort into creating this supplemental material. I chose the spiral binding as it lays flat against the piano music stand.

Great content, but missing pages in my copy
This book itself is fantastic. I'm an adult beginner teaching myself and it has been an incredible resource. I don't think I would have learned anything at all without it. The lessons are clearly written, logical, and build on each other for a well rounded foundation in reading music and playing skillfully. I will soon be leveling up to the next book, and have worked at this one for several months. It makes me excited to play piano. That being said, I just discovered that the copy I received is missing pages 151-168. In their place are duplicate pages of 121-136. I'm pretty disappointed because it's now past the return window. I'm missing part of unit 14, all of unit 15, and part of unit 16. Ill have to try and find these lessons elsewhere so I don’t miss important theory. Other than that, I do recommend this book for learning piano. There have only been a couple of short exercises that are specifically meant for a teacher or friend to help with, so the majority is great for someone self-teaching, especially with the bonus online content.

Nothing but praise - late adult learner after 2nd Adventure book
I don’t know how to write a good review, so I will just state what happened to me with this book.I bought this book in the spring bound form( listed $17.99), with tax and shipping for $19.38 more than two years ago. I started with a private teacher almost immediately.Previously I never learned anything musical, except for general music classes up to high school -- more than 30 years ago.It took me a weekly private lessons of 8 months, to finish this book. Currently I am in the 15th month on the 2nd Adventure book(finally done with the last song, Pachelbel Canon, only this week) with the same private teacher — just so you’d know how musically (un)talented I am:)Compared to the 2nd book, which turned out to be quite challenging, this was just so much fun, inviting, and fast!I strongly believe this 1st Adventure book helped me build the very basics to move forward in my piano journey. Now I am looking forward to the next book, 3b, yes also with the same teacher.
