Froggy Goes to Bed

I put them in baby gifts. Read to our children, students & grandchildren. They love it. They love it when I say "Froooooooggggggyyyyy'" and my husband says "Whaaaatttttt?" Great from birth on up.

This is a beautiful book , so much fun if you add voices and special effects while you read it ! Is really easy to do that !My daughter used to read it to me and her self word for word after a few weeks of me reading it to her ! This is before she learned how to read ! Lol .I absolutely recommend this series for your own kids or as gift to new parents !I love froggy goes to bed . Great memories!

I don’t know why my kid is obsessed with Froggy books, but once again this one didn’t disappoint either! Great price point and fun character development throughout the entire series.

This is the best series of books for little ones! I read them all to my son when he was little and he added this to his baby registry. He still loves it so much! I think that speaks volumes!

The quality of this paperback book is crap. I owned this book when it first came out and it was my sons favorite. Now he is a dad so I got it for his son. I have purchased books from scholastic which were better quality than this. It looks like someone printed it out, and glued the binding. I nought it would be better for $8.00.

My son loves this book. It is a great way to get your ready for his/her bedtime routine.

I was super excited to get the four Froggy books I ordered; this one “Froggy Goes to Bed” just happened to be the first one that arrived separately. I regret reading it to my just-turned 4 year old...but thankfully, she wasn’t very interested and was only half-listening. Froggy is a brat. When his mom calls him for his bath, or to brush his teeth, or asks him to find his “huggy” (stuffed animal); he answers her with a mocking “wha-a-a-aaat”. When he has to find his pj’s, tooth brush, huggy, etc., they’re all in places they clearly shouldn’t be (in the cookie jar, under the stove) which implies he doesn’t put anything away where they should go. After he brushes his teeth, he gets back out of bed and takes it upon himself to get a snack...after he had brushed. Then gets back in bed, and asks for water to drink. His poor mother fetches him water, he spills it and instead of him cleaning it up, she’s on the floor doing it for him. Then she’s gets him more water. Then he demands his closet door closed, his bedroom door cracked and his night-light turned down “just how he likes it”. She does all of these things. Then he asks for a book, and as she reads it, she falls asleep in the seemingly uncomfortable chair while he’s comfy in his bed. I don’t know what the author was thinking. It only encourages bratty and disrespectful behavior. Sure, the parents can redirect their child and tell them that’s how they SHOULDN’T act, but why should we have to when reading a children’s book? Write a book that encourages good behavior to begin with! I laugh at the review that suggests parents not “take it so seriously”. Ha! These are toddler ages on up listening to these books and learning the behavior they’re hearing about. I will be returning this book and will return the other three if they’re equally just as bad. Unreal. 🙄

Ich habe das Buch wieder aussortiert.Nachdem wir Froggy get's dressed gelesen haben und meine Tochter das sehr gut und lustig fand und auch auch selber nachgespielt hat (18 Monate) habe ich dieses Buch ebenso gekauft. Leider ein kompletter Fehlkauf.Froggy möchte nicht ins Bett gehen und lässt etliche sich Dinge einfallen warum das auch (noch) nicht geht. Das ist grundsätzlich OK inhaltlich, aber die Umsetzung ist mangelhaft. Froggy putzt sich die Zähne und möchte danach bevor ins Bett geht aber noch mal einen Snack essen, was er auch tut. Das möchte ich meiner Tochter nicht vorlesen, geschweige denn, dass sie selber auf die Idee kommt. Der Ton, in dem Froggy mit seiner Mutter redet ist m.E. miserabel gewählt. Die Mutter muss die Tür auf lassen, das Nachtlicht so einstellen, dass er bereit ist zu schlafen, ihm noch ein Glas Wasser holen und und und. Letztlich ist es natürlich OK, dass Mama noch ein glas Wasser holt und das Licht so runter dreht, bis ihr Kind gut schlafen kann. Froggy aber redet harsch mit seiner Mutter und macht daraus, und das ist das was ich nicht gut heißen kann, ganz offensichtlich eine Bedingung, dass er ins Bett geht. Es wäre m.E. sinnvoll, wenn Froggy seine Mutter bittet, dass Licht, wie sonst runter zu stellen. Das tut er aber nicht.Ähnliches würde ich über das Buch Froggy goes to the doctor sagen. Das ist auch nicht gelungen. Ich habe auch dieses aussortiert, weil Froggy sehr frech ist ohne, dass danach erklärt wird, dass das nicht ok ist.

Jeden Abend, wenn ich die Lesestunde "einläute", kommt mein Sohn mit strahlendem Gesichtchen auf mich zugeeilt. Warum? Ich habe ein Froggy-Buch zur Hand! Die Illustrationen sind absolut top!Sobald ich "Froggy goes to bed" vorlese, sitzt er ganz still und hört mir aufmerksam zu! Ganz toll sind diese Laute, wie munch crunch munch, zzzzzzzz,slam!, creeek usw! Wenn man die richtig betont, gibts ein Kinderlächeln extra! Flop flop flop...Schön ist auch die Stelle, an der Froggy mal wieder mehr rot als grün im Gesicht ist. Er hat halt Anstand :-)Tatsächlich sind diese Bücher, vor allem wenn es ums Schlafengehen geht, recht realitätsgetreu, da Kinder sich gerne etwas einfallen lassen um nur ja noch nicht zu Bett gehen zu müssen :-)Haben mittlerweile viele Bücher von Froggy, da sie auch einen gewissen Lerneffekt für die Kleinen (und vielleicht auch die Großen?) haben.Den Wortschatz erweitert es allemal und lässt sich auch im Alltag sehr leicht umsetzten (z.B. Froggy learns to swim).Buch-Serie hin oder her, DIESES Buch ist das absolute Lieblingsbuch meines Sohnes!!!

Ich finde die Froggy Bücher toll. Es werden immer andere Themen behandelt und den Kindern auf kindgerechten Wegen verständlich gemacht. Durch die vielen Wiederholungen der Phrasen können Kinder auch schnell mitsprechen und haben dadurch noch mehr Spaß beim zuhören und verstehen. Einfach toll für das Erlernen der englischen Sprache mit Kindern!
