Shadows of Doubt (Loring-Abbott Series Book 4)

It Picked Up Near The End...
BOOK 4#: Shadows of Doubt,{Andrew's Story}. This is is, I think, the end of the Loring Abbott Series... Boo-hoo! But I believe Elizabeth Johns is going to be writing a series about...(building the suspense)...THE ASHBURY TRIPLETS! It's called "The Ashbury Triplets Trilogy"(just thought you might want to know!) and the 1st book is going about Gavin {DR. CRAIG}!!! I don't know about you but every time I see that poor Scot I think,"That dude has got to find love!" And Margaux is the heroine! Anyway, I don't know when it is coming out( :( I'm sorry). So moving on to the book: Andrew, as always, was outstanding! But I wasn't crazy about Gwen...she was supposed to be a redhead, but she was ~incredibly~ boring, (I mean, c'mon, really?) And to me they "fell in love" a bit quick. But that might just be me. I think Andrew deserved ALOT better. On the other hand, I absolutely LOVED seeing a lot of the characters! Especially the FAIRMONTS! But unlike the other books in the series, this one dragged in a few parts, but the best part in the entire book was when they get "STRANDED"! Classic,(it made me bump up my rating)! But "SEEKING REDEMPTION" is still the best book in the series, though! This is a clean read. I guess you could read this as a stand-alone, but I TOTALLY recommend reading all the other books in the series,(especially BOOK 3)!!! If you don't you may get confused with all the characters. So just read them & you'll be like me and say,"Nice seeing all of y'all again!!!" See? 'Hope my review helped you!

Quite nice
There was a lot of skipping of pages for me, it simply did not get my total attention, i think there was too much padding in the text. However I do realise that it is personal preference.

A perfect ending to the Loring-Abbot series!
I simply adored this story. Elizabeth Johns once again writes a beautiful story of two people overcoming time, distance and insecurities to find a love to last a lifetime.Shadows of doubt is the final chapter in the Loring-Abbot and what a great way to end the series. I have fallen in love with this family and watching them overcome the adversity they each face to find not only wholeness within themselves but a love to last a lifetime. The story involves Andrew Abbott a former captain in the British army who is trying to find some purpose in his life. Andrew is a charmer and has enjoyed flirting with the ladies but has felt no need to marry until he meets his match in Gwendolyn.I simply adored Gwendolyn. She has no use to the ton or politics of British society, after her father scandalous death and cut from her family. Gwendolyn is a survivor & will fight to make a way for herself. As soon as Andrew meet Gwendolyn he finally found the women he didn't know he was looking for. Over the course of a week a real friendship develops as well as an attachment between the two. Unfortunately, Gwendolyn doesn't believe she is worthy of Andrew and believes he only wants her for her mistress. Andrew takes off to America, hopelessly in love with Gwendolyn but unsure if she returns his feelings.I loved watching Andrew's and Gwendolyn journey to forever as they dealt with distance, misunderstandings and scheming families.

Another lovely book!
Elizabeth Johns has become one of my favorite authors and I’ve read nearly everything she has written. Not one of the books has disappointed. Her characters are well developed and completely engrossing. I love the fact that this series runs concurrent to another so the reader can both catch up with some characters and also get the back story.I will finish reading anything else Ms Johns has written!!!

Andrew
From the beginning of the series Andrew was a favorite. I was looking forward to his book. In truth I had problems with Gwen and her almost nonstop introspection. Her life was terrible and took sometime to straighten it out. It took a flood and broken glass for her to finally see the value in Andrew, or maybe it was the hope within herself. Not to mention most of the Loring-Abbott family to convince her. Recommended.

Andrew Abbott finally finds a woman he can love
Andrew Abbott finally finds a woman he can love for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, she comes from a family that has been disgraced in the eyes of the bon ton and feels she is not good enough for him. She considers herself a spinster who will have to make her own way in life and won't take charity from him or his family. How can he convince her that he loves her and wants her to be his wife? Maybe saving her life during a hurricane on his father's plantation in Virginia will do it? Can't hurt, right?I loved this story. The only problem I found with the book was the editing. Often there were sentences with too many conflicting pronouns and lots of double negatives. It was pretty easy from the context to determine what the author was saying, but sometimes it took reading a sentence a couple times to figure it out.

Shadows of Doubt Book 4 in the (Loring –Abbott series) by Elizabeth Johns is a ggoo book in a great series
“Shadows of Doubt” is the fourth and final book in the Loring- Abbott series by Elizabeth Johns. Gwendolyn Lambert and her family are new characters in this series, which added some good and bad characters to the story. Andrew Abbott finds his match in Gwendolyn but she has an ill mother to care for and Andrew has family obligations in America. The story is well written, a clean romance with surprises and humor that are consistent in this series that I so appreciated. This is the last book in this series, but some of the previous characters will be appearing in the next series by this talented author, “A Series of Elements”. I have enjoyed this series and am so glad for the Elements series that continued the story and to develop many of the original characters.
