First off, ignore the Furman shills posting reviews on this product implying that you should buy their MOV based, disposable surge protectors that, other than being in a rack mount form factor, are no different than the technology used in $8 power strip surge protectors. If you find pictures of how Furman etc. are constructed internally, they suddenly don't seem like that great of a deal.The theoretically permanent protection that this surge protector provides, unlike Furman etc. MOV based surge protectors that degrade or stop working when performing their intended function, as well as the nature of the technology that effectively isolates outputs from any line noise*, put this in a totally different league than the items that Furman shills on this page are pushing. These differences come at a substantial cost, but there is absolutely no question about what is the better product. Until the patent runs out for this type surge suppression technology, SurgeX is the best, and most expensive, option for surge protection out there.*note The ten outputs can transmit noise to each other. For example, a pre amp might pick up noise from an amplifier also plugged into the SurgeX because the ten outputs are not isolated from each other internally. However, the ten outputs as a group are effectively isolated from the overall circuit they are plugged into. Ideally, only one of the ten outputs would be used. No one ever said high end stereo equipment was cheap!

I run a home audio production studio with some VERY expensive audio production equipment. From multiple full-size audio interfaces to an iMac to multiple keyboards, monitors and other devices, it’s really important to protect all of that electrically. I was nervous when I first bought this thing, not knowing if I could trust it. Now I am so thankful I decided to buy it.I am not making this up: cloud-to-ground lightning recently struck our home during a severe thunderstorm that passed through. Not one of my devices plugged into this unit suffered any damage, and the conditioner didn’t even have to reset. It saved thousands of dollars that I would’ve had to spend to replace the gear. It did it’s job, with excellence. Truly impressed by this thing, and if you don’t have money for an expensive electrical system like I didn’t at the time, this is a great budget solution for home studios like mine.

I bought this to upgrade the Furman for my stereo system. I found that the dynamic is lost with the SurgeX. So I put the furman back to the stereo system and use SurgeX for my home theater. At least it will protect the OLED TV, AVR, and SVS subwoofers. Slightly disappointed it is not for Audiophile system.

ITS TOOK THE HIT EVERY 30 SECOND AND IT WAS FINE!!!!!! You know, I can't tell you for sure if it works - I could probably only know for sure if it didn't....I can tell you all my stuff works and none has been damaged due to any electrical surges.I bought the SurgeX product at the recommendation of a friend who is a professional sound engineer. There is a beefier equivalent of this model (and pricier) that is more appropriate for more high wattage live performance - since I only use this to protect my recording equipment (which doesn't draw enormous amounts of power) I felt this model would be adequate.So far it's done what it's advertised to do.

We have a client with a server room where all kinds of strange, unexplainable things were happening. Power supplies going bad, a UPS battery swelling up, corrupted operating systems, etc. We finally deduced it had to be some sort of voltage problem. I researched power conditioners and came across this one. I purchased it and put it in place. Since then, no new issues. This product is manufactured in North Carolina and well worth the cost.

I was surprised to see that the company recommends not using an electric outlet for the protector that is not more than 30 feet from electrical service box (breaker). The pictured insert was in box. Not an issue for me but it would be nice to know BEFORE purchasing.

This is my 4th SurgeX SA1810. This product is an absolute beast. Nothing gets through it. Since installing the SA1810 on the power input side before my APC battery backups, the batteries last much longer without a doubt. My home theater components are much more stable, and there seems to be much less "noise" during the viewing & listening experience. SurgeX/ESP customer service is the most friendly group of professionals with whom I have ever had the pleasure of doing business. I also own several other SurgeX/ESP products, and have never experienced any problems. Outstanding products from an oustanding company!UPDATE: I now own 6 of these.

This product has two major features. One is the original intended purpose which is to provide product protection of things like TV, DVD, DVRs etc as well as any other product requiring significant protection from electrical surges which will include computers, cell phone charging etc. However, in my case its primary purpose was to provide improvement of picture quality to any TV.More than sound I look for the best picture quality available. I chose a Samsung 2018 65" TV as a recent purchase and while initially out of the box it is extremely good, when the SA - 1810 is added as a premium surge protector, it provides an added bonus of even better picture quality and white balance which produces absolutely true color rendition of all color tones between the deepest black to the whitest white with the only adjustment made was to reduce the brightness to -5 so as to not blow out any highlights but still provide superb contrast and color rendition.While this product is quite expensive, it is not above what folks that like great sound will pay so those that want great picture quality will find the investment something that is more than tolerable but a joy to add to any visual environment in which it is used.Try it, you'll like it!!!
