CAMVATE Camera Cage for Sony Alpha A6600/A6500 with Conversion 1/4"-20 Adapter Hole(Black) - 1380

Since there are no cages for the Canon EOS M2, this is your only choice. The M2 is roughly 10% smaller than the EOS M. So in case you were wondering like I was, it does fit the M2 and luckily does not cover the rubber grip on the camera at all, but it is extremely close. The only issue I have with this cage is that it isn't perfect because the camera is ever-so-slightly leaning lower on the right side and isn't perfectly flushed horizontally with the cage. This may be an issue on the regular EOS M as well, but I haven't tried it on that camera yet. Other than that the quality is superb and I have no other complaints. I recommend getting one of the various SmallRig "NATO" Top Handles to slide onto this cage.

Just purchased this for a new Canon M200. Was a little surprised it covered up the onboard flash but honestly, I never used it. Sure made the cheapness of the M200 feel less cheap in terms of weight. Definitely needed if I plan on using any lens larger than the kit lens. I seldom use a tripod for outdoor shots so having this cage with a handle bolted wherever I want made the camera easier to handle. It’s well made and works for its intended purpose. Mounts easily to camera. Only covers the flash; all other buttons or sensors are unhindered. Good price. Thankful they made it for the M series.

It will work with a Sony NEX camera, but you should know a couple of things. The height clearance is taller than the camera since the NEX is much shorter than the a6600. You will need to add some shims between the camera bottom and the cage. Sony designed the underside with the screw mount bumped out. This makes it sit a little lop sided without some extra support. I chopped up a popsicle stick (see pics). It's not super fancy, but it works for me.

Build quality is great, and I especially love the built in NATO rail on top, I got a NATO mount top handle to go with it and it’s sweet being able to adjust the balance side to side so easily.

Since the smallrig cage for the sony a5100 is long discontinued, I've been looking all over for something on the market that could serve the same purpose. Although this is only a half cage, it's basically (a little more than) half the size of a smallrig for half the price. Of course the cage sits a little tall for what I'm using, but its far better than I could have ever imagined.

Update: The cold shoe on this cage is too thick. Not all all cold/hot shoe mounted accessories can go wide enough to clamp onto the cage's cold shoe mount. Also, the actual hot shoe on the Sony A6600 is being blocked by the top bar of the halfcage where I can not put a flash or any other accessory onto the Sony's native hot shoe. I switched the screw on the bottom to a longer one that threads all the way through my tripod quick release plate and the cage. I wish the bottom of the cage allowed for 2 screws for the tripod plate to connect to. All cameras should have 2 screws to stop the quick release plate from twisting. But other than that, I think it is great. It's a well made half cage. If you just want to run a smaller setup, this might be perfect for you. The key is that it is also a great price at just under $20. If they raise the price, you might consider getting a full cage instead.

Not faulting Amazon - only the maker. This fits my Canon EOS M, but just a tad too snugly. The lens is right against the cage, therefore making it difficult to detach. So I will use engraver to grind out a small section.

Perfect for my Canon Eos M

Only mounts with 1 screw but otherwise fits great. Was looking for a budget cage for the OG BMPCC and at 38.0$ was a good option. Lost of mount spots and pairs with nitze lil stinger top handle well. Added a small rig universal wood side handle and could not be happier. Buy it!
