A unique hot sauce - somewhat reminiscent of miso or soy sauce but hot, it's definitely a cousin to that flavor family. I use it to make quick soups with vegetables and fish filets, I dissolve it when it's about done like I would miso and often add chili crisp oil for extra heat.

Foolishly, I didn't look at the weight/volume of this product. This is an 8-ounce tub as opposed to your usual 1-pound tubs you are used to seeing gochuchang sold in. But they're all about $8-$9. So, you're paying double for the GF version. Which is par for the course, right?

So happy to finally find delicious gluten free gochujang! I can say so far no celiac reactions to this and it's very flavorful! Cheers to more samgyupsals!

I have wanted to try gochujang for the longest time and finally, I just bit the bullet and bought some. This will definitely be a staple in my kitchen!Now, when you first open it, it is RED. A deep and almost startlingly red that would normally promise hard times for both tongue and rectum.However, the spice level is rather mild and enjoyable in a way that I've never experienced before. It dances on the tongue but it doesn't burn. Also, you can use this in a variety of dishes because it will lend a nice heat to your food without really changing the flavor of your dish.

If you're on the fence about trying this for the first time, click buy now!! My husband and I bought our first container, made chicken with it from a recipe I found online and immediately bought 2 more. It has a lovely Korean flavor you cannot reproduce at home and makes your food taste restaurant quality.

I got this chili paste because it doesn't have wheat as an ingredient. However, it tastes more sweet and sugary than spicy to me so overall effect is of sweetness. I won't be ordering this again but looking for something with less sweetness and more chili taste.
