Q: Is the high temperature alert configurable? I need this for a server room and need to set the alert at 75* F. thx!

Yes you will set both the high and low temperature alarm points.

Q: Is it possible to use the unit for a few hours just on the battery? In a car for example.....

The device has an on board lithium battery that will last up to 30 hours on a full charge. So it can be used with out a 110 Volt power supply. You will get a alarm that the power has gone out.

Q: Does the marcell unit make any noise?

No, just sits there doing it's job.

Q: Does Marcel have to be placed where temp is monitored? Is there a probe to extend location of cell receiver? In metal box truck no cell singal.

The Marcell does need to be placed where the temp is being monitored. It also needs to have a cell signal to be able to call out. You can call 1-585-537-7595. As I know there is work in progress of one the a wireless sensor
