It's Microsoft. What do you expect?
You want to run Windows and have a supported system that is compatible with everything, plus have your own copy to install without worry, then you pay!Personally, really, really consider Linux Fedora. Free, very well supported (including graphics cards), included, near 'copies' of Word, Excel etc.But, sometimes you just need Windows, although for most people, you really don't!

Windows 11 has some marked differences fromn Windows 10.
When installing on a newly rebuilt desktop computer. initially I had no taskbar and difficulty finding settings, or any application, and particularly shutting down. Life would have been difficult without access to the web via another, working, computer. Things seem to be fine as I get to know the new procedures available.

As advertised
It came with a disk but you can download the instillation media online and just used the product key like I did. It is also possible to bypass the connect to network stage if you don't have any network or wifi drivers on your motherboard yet but it's not obvious.

You would need windows 10 to install this or any older windows.
