The best on the market
This is a tool. Not a novelty. It’s useful and tough. Vitrinox feels better than most of it’s kind. For the pliers, there is a smoothness in the movement. It locks in places while opening. There’s no play. Exceptional tool. I’ve owned Gerber, and leatherman. I prefer Vitrinox. The layout of the tools, the quality, and comfort when squeezing the pliers are some of the things that make it better.

Best tool I have ever owned
I have had this tool for a little over 5 years and it has never let me down.Let me first say that anyone willing to spend a decent amount of money on this tool should also invest in a carrying pouch - it will go a long way in sheltering it from unnecessary wear and keeping dirt/grime out while not in use.I am an Eagle Scout and I am constantly in the outdoors or working on DIY projects; I can't even express how convenient it is to have this tool. When you are busy and can't leave to get your other tools, or when you are out camping with this as one of your only tools, this is a godsend! I also own several Leatherman brand knives and multitools and I can say without a doubt, that the build quality of this is far superior. Just from the weight, you can tell that this thing is as sturdy as they come! But don't get me wrong, it is not bulky - I am amazed at all of the functionality that they were able to cram into this thing! Anybody can slap a bunch of tools onto a pair of pliers, the amazing thing about this set is that every single tool is rugged and very functional; you never have to worry about being gentle with the functions because its a multitool. The way I see it, here are the major advantages of this set:-It is very sturdy and when you snap it closed, it stays closed (same thing for when the pliers are open) It's as solid as a brick until you want the pliers, and then its the sturdiest pair of pliers I've ever seen on a multitool-The knife is a quality steel that I have only sharpened twice despite 5 years of use. This blade will hold an edge through hell and back.-The saw blade is just incredible. I wish they sold larger saws with the same tooth pattern. I have cut down live, 4" tree branches in minutes with this thing - still never sharpened it. If my life depended on a tree branch needing to be cut down, I would skip the shop-saw and go straight to my trustee swisstool and I'm NOT kidding.-the scissors are perfect for small or delicate tasks. Cutting thread, fine edges, or need to trim off the edges of that nasty road rash you just picked up- these are your best friend. While they are obviously not a replacement for full-sized scissors, their usefulness becomes apparent very quickly.-The Screwdriver is and ACTUAL screw driver! how many times have you reached for the multitool to put in a phillips-head screw and had to fumble with the flat-head bit as your only option? Well this tool is another godsend. Not only does it fit virtually any size bit, but it is beefy enough and centered on the closed tool so that you can grab it and apply pressure like a normal screw driver! Self-tapping screws that need a little 'umph' to get them digging in - no problem! (but good luck doing that with another multitool! As a bonus, the main unfolding mechanism will be fairly sturdy wherever you stop it, so you can actually make a longer screw driver out of it by unfolding the main part half way (making the two sides in line with each other) with the screw driver bit folded out.-The pliers come with wire cutters that actually cut wire! These wire cutters handle small wiring projects and even fence-wire cutting with no problem. Unlike most wire cutters, these have a shearing action so that they reliably cut all the way through whatever you want them to.-As for the various punches, bottle openers, scrapers, and the like - you never know when you are going to need a tool that fits in ______ and has an end like _____ to get the job done. You will always find what you need here! And like everything else, they are sturdy as hell!-The file has and edge! It doesn't just file on the larger flat sides, the edge functions like a knife with small serrations which is perfect for cutting grooves into things. (allowing you to attach rope, etc to smooth things without the worry of cutting too deep/cutting it in half)-EVERYTHING LOCKS INTO PLACE! There is a sliding lock on each handle that locks each folding tool into position - thus making it much easier to work with and much harder to accidentally lose fingers. I have NEVER even been slightly worried about the lock holding while working with this tool - as with the rest of the knife, it is built as sturdy as they come. The only gripe that I have about this knife is that it doesn't have any sort of loop to hang it on a carabiner for backpacking, belt loops, etc. Although my my carrying case has a belt loop on it and takes care of that issue for me, I can see that the knife by itself would not be as easy to bring along. The bottom line:This is an expensive knife, but it is worth every penny! $160 sounds like a lot of money to spend on a multitool - but I'll be damned if this isn't the last multitool you will ever buy. I have a feeling that I will be passing this knife on to my grandchildren! Don't fall for knock-offs, Victorinox is the real deal and I would easily have paid double the price for this knife.
