Too expensive; glycolic pad are really nice and this has a 30 week supply
There's expensive and then there's really expensive, and this is really expensive. On the one hand price shouldn't matter and all that should matter is whether it works. But, on the other hand price matters. This set has two things.First, it has glycolic pads. These are pads that you wipe your face with after washing. They tingle and it's a bit like the feel of a salycilic acid pad that you'd treat zits with in high school, but totally different. I think what it's supposed to be doing is treating with something that gets into your skin layers and helps them, like helping collagen. These are labeled to use weekly or up to every other day. Since you get 30 pads, if you use weekly, these are not so expensive as if it were daily. The pack lasted the whole 30 weeks without pads drying out and the last pad was as wow as the firsy. The glycolic pads by themselves purchased separately are forty eight dollars, so insanely expensive. I feel like these actually are good though.Second, there's the "Glowing Serum". This was a teeny tiny bottle of thick moisturizer with a teeny tiny pump dispenser. Since the pump dispenser gives you a tiny bit, this tiny little bottle will last you more than a month easily with daily use. You are supposed to wash as normal, then use the glycolic pad if it's a glycolic pad day, then use the glowing serum by applying and letting it soak in, then later you can use make up as needed. The consistency of the glowing serum is almost like a make up product. I feel it's heavy and not the best for using with sunscreen moisturizer. If you have the money, to me Olay Regenerist is a much better product. It feels lighter and has SPF. However, I don't wear makeup often and my main problem with the Meaningful Beauty glowing serum is that it feels like a first layer of make up and probably was meant to go under make up.Cindy Crawford actually has pretty bad skin. She has a lot of sun damage. Meanwhile, I'm a bit younger than her, and I've used sunscreen moisturizer pretty regularly starting young. I feel like her style is very different from mine. Hers is: First a wash to clear pores. Then maybe wipe with the glycolic pads (once or twice a week but not daily) to really open pores and have them clean and clear. Then put a lotion to protect pores from makeup. Then put on makeup. I did preventive care early with the sunscreen, and am militant about the sunscreen moisturizer. The glowing serum is heavy for me and doesn't layer well under a light SPF lotion, so doesn't work for me. On the other hand, the glycolic pads felt awesome. If price were no object, I'd say try those separately but still skip this combo kit.
