Most of the sounds are great and you can tell that they were recorded well. I listened to all of them for a while and I didn't notice any looping, very seamless. Bonus points for the headphone jack and battery option. Remembers the last setting you used.White noise: more like a hiss, I don't like this one so muchFan: really sounds like somebody recorded a server cooling fan, kind of weird but better than the hissOcean waves: Seriously sounds like they recorded the ocean and it's nice.Birds: nice song bird chirpy sounds with no other background noise.Water running: sounds like water running in a trough, not like a streamNight sounds: just crickets, nice.Thunderstorm: Nice rolling thunder sounds from far away with gentle rain sounds. I like this one the best BUT the tiny speaker just doesn't do the thunder justice with no bass at all. Even on headphones the thunder doesn't really have much bass.Woods: Frog sounds with an odd muffled flowing water in the background. This one sounds muffled and weird.The unit is small and light with option to run from batteries so it's great for traveling!

I got this to replace one i've used for a couple of yrs. Problem with it was that it had a light which I had to keep a towel over it to block out the light while i slept. This one has no annoying light.

It seems most of the sleep therapy machines are very similar. Seeing that they all seem to have similar features, the price makes a big difference. The sleep sounds are very similar. Chirping birds, flowing streams, white noise, thunder, etc. are very similar sounds. Volume is pretty similar. The quality of the sound is excellent. The price and size of the machine were more and more important. This was priced well. I can also charge two USB devices at the same time. That was a huge plus. I like this device and I would purchase it again.

The noise machine is a great quality machine. This one had a lightening deal, so I went with it. I read the reviews and it says it runs off of battery. I needed one that had a battery backup in case our power went out, the noise would continue to run off of the battery. I received it, added the batteries and tested it out. Turns out that the machine will run on batteries alone. When you plug the cord into it and plug it into the wall, it voids the use off batteries. That being said, THIS MACHINE DOES NOT HAVE A BATTERY BACK UP IN CASE OF POWER LOSS. I am a mother and this is for my sons room. If you are a parent, you know the importance of keeping that noise running all through the night! I read the Q and A section and a lot of other people asked if it had a battery backup. Everyone answered that yes it does. IT DOES NOT!!! I do have to add that I contacted Customer Support and they were quite helpful with trying to figure out my issue. They even sent me a new one thinking the one I had was defective. I gave the machine 5/5 stars because of customer support and overall it is a good machine. The sound quality is great and there are a lot of choices for noise, and it runs on battery alone. If battery backup weren't so important to me, I would most definitely use this machine and recommend it to others.

I like it very much as far as the variety of sounds it will play, it’s a nice compact size that doesn’t take up a lot of nightstand space. I like the fact that it will also charge my tablet and cell phone, very convenient. One negative comment I have is that if you turn up the volume to high, it causes the speaker to sound staticky. It would have been five stars except for that one negative. I do recommend this sound machine.
