Big Book of Thread Ornaments-Create Timeless Heirlooms with these 100+ Crochet Designs

This was a book I purchased because I had big, big plans for making a whole slew of crochet ornaments. Then we adopted the most amazing, beautiful little boy ever, and my plans became upended. The last things I completed from it were a series of star ornaments, shown below.Here's what I can say about this book. I didn't have to correct the patterns I used. And I loved that. I actually do struggle to rate a crochet book well when I have to make frequent corrections to the patterns, because if I wanted to do that, I'd just hunt down free stuff on-line.I think the selection of Christmas patterns is good, and I especially like some of the angels. I also didn't have any problems with the blocking templates for the ornaments I used, they worked exactly as they should, which again, I love. Blocking is what makes or breaks these ornaments, because if you don't block them and stiffen them appropriately, they're not going to look anywhere near as awesome on your tree.So the patterns in this are restricted to angels, snowflakes/stars, and ornament balls, the type that would mostly appeal to someone with a more traditional ornament design aesthetic. Which happens to be me, I used to collect books with old school (think like your great grandmother used) doily and table runner patterns because it reminds me of the types my grandmother used, and they happen to resonate with me. So this book would probably resonate most with someone who tends to prefer crochet styles that kind of hearken back a bit that way.

LIttle did I expect to see such a great list of unique and thorough patterns in one book for such a small price. I wasn't expecting to see so many different Angels, Snowflakes, Bells and Balls in one book. This is great and I can't wait to start making my Christmas gifts and projects for sale from this super book.The book begins with hundreds of angel patterns from the tiny to the table top to tree top there is such a diverse group of heavenly host to choose from with complete instructions right down to the hair styles and finishing touches.Then come the Snowflakes and the 3-D ones are calling me to make them right away. After that come the ball ornaments and the wreath and tree ornaments meant to hold photographs of the kids, grandma/grandpap and even the family pet. After that comes the bells and there are unusual patterns for every aspect of ornament that I will be busy making these great thread gifts for months ahead.Ho Ho Ho It's going to be a white Christmas at my house.....

Most of this book is about crocheting angels; there are many variations here. A few patterns for bells, globes, and stars are included. I wasn't thrilled with the content because of so many angel projects, yet they are not on the front cover.

I started out not actually wanting this book. I only got it because I was getting a better deal on 2 other books on crochet ornament covers. The other 2 were duds, but this book is a treasure!!! It is hands down the BEST book I have ever seen on the subject! It is "doable" for a beginner, in as much that there are very detailed instructions on the stitches used, and on finishing. It covers the usual snowflakes, 3 of them with a "3-D" twist. Angels of all types (just beautiful), covers for glass,satin and Styrofoam balls, and the most lovely bells! Sound like a fan? You bet!! Leisure Arts books are usually pretty good, but this is THE BEST!!!!! Holly

I purchased this book because it is complete: there are not only a lot of beautiful snowflakes like in many other books, but you can also find other ornaments, bells and..... fabulous, lovely angels that I had never seen before! There are angels of different sizes playing all kind of instruments, I cannot wait to start one of these projects.

I purchase the book to make the snowflakes and the picture frame decorations on the cover, and when I opened the book I found out more goodies. The book has a 3D snowflakes, many thread ball ornaments designs and angels tree toppers.Already tried the top left corner snowflake on the front cover in baby blue thread, and the middle picture frame on the back cover in green. The blocking instructions are easy to follow and the blocking diagrams helpful.Trees decorations and exchange gifts... here we go!

I seen this I. A craft group I'm in , it came in 2 days ago and has so much more than I thought it would . Definitely a good buy. Now I gotta go, because I have lots of crocheting to do 🤗
