How far off the wall to the center of shower head?

I have a 4" on center openings and previously purchased a 6" on center faucet. Will this adapter make the faucet work with my claw foot bathtub?

Really not enough information to give a good answer, will it be through the tub wall or just through the wall and above the tub, but eather way you could use it. Might use a 1/2" supply lines or pipe nipples to connect.
