Compact system ideal for small flat
Set up and use were straight forward, provided the quite complex instructions were approached with patience. Speakers powerful for their size, with good bass response. Excellent sound quality from the vinyl and CD decks. I have not yet tested the audiotape functions and copying To CD. Unit has both Dab and FM radio functions. setting up pre-set stations is a bit fiddly. The unit looks very smart and compact. I am very pleased with the product, and consider it good value for money.

What a disappointment
Looking forward to receiving this unit. But upon receipt there was a crack in the record deck clear plastic lid and worst of all CD1 draw will not eject. CD2 opens without a problem. Instructions say "How to manually eject the CD draw" then "locate the MANUAL EJECT HOLE". That's OK for CD2 there is a hole BUT CD1 there is no hole. Disilusioned I haven't tried any thing else on this unit so can't comment further but with Steepletone's obvious lack of quality control I wonder what else may not work. Anyhow going to arrange return. EDIT: Returned item, at no cost to me, with no problem for full refund. Compliments to Digitalis.

Makes music
This Steepletone is a superb piece of kit, sound quality is not brilliant compared to my old outdated Pioneer separates with massive speakers and 200 watt Amp, but it’s acceptable never the less. It’s an amazing machine but boy is it complicated, I’ve had it a year now and still can’t quite get to grips with it without getting the manual out and reading it each time, but that’s just me, I’m a technophobe I’m afraid. It records vinyl records on to blank CDs brilliantly and when you play them back on expensive equipment the quality of the output is fantastic. If you’re fussy about sound quality I suggest investing in some good quality speakers to play it through. I’ve played it through my 2 foot high Pioneer triple cone speakers and the difference is incredible. This tells me the amp must be of decent quality, it’s only the speakers that let it down a bit, but in such a compact complicated unit that’s probably an unfair criticism. And it is complicated, it doesn’t just record vinyl to CD but does 100 other things as well that I will probably never get to grips with. It unlocks your car from 30 feet, boils the kettle, switches the toaster on, controls the central heating . . . . . . ! Well, not quite. I bought a Panasonic DVD and Video player/recorder with internal hard drive about 15 years ago, fantastic piece of kit but far too complicated for me to master, it’s just become a dusty piece of junk now. I don’t want this outfit to become the same. It’s ironic that the Panasonic device cost as much all those years ago as this Steepletone device did today. The remote seems to work ok but I’m never sure what button I’m pressing. If your a tech freak, buy one of these, you’ll have amazing fun putting all your records and cassettes on to playable media, be it CD, USB stick, SD card or whatever, it’s a very very versatile outfit and can do almost anything with music, oh and mustn’t forget the DAB radio, which plays in am/fm as well. I doubt Paul McCartney could do any more in his recording studios than this thing can.

Read the manual.
Although I had an initial problem with a faulty CD drive, this was returned to base & repaired promptly, while the rest of the system was retained & used. Impressed with sound ideal for small living room, played some very old cassettes & they sounded better than when I last played them many years ago, like the connectivity with Iphone (Bluetooth) & Ipod (wired). I have yet to test recording to CD or cassette but confident this will work well. To get the best from the system you do need to read the manual as some of the operations are not what I would call intuitive. Good value for money.

Decent All in One System
A lot of features to this system. The buttons on the remote control are a bit fiddley, but after a while getting used to it. Very disappointed with the included speakers, very tinny! A good job I still had my original speakers from my previous system.

Fantastic quality and sound from a British company
Steepletone, thank you so much. I cannot express how pleased I am with the quality of build and sound. I can now play, CD, Cassette and LP, with the option of bluetooth and other functionality. I have attached a photo and video and I should point out that the sound is from my personal collection that I have purchased over the years. The file I have uploaded does not reflect the true quality and depth of sound and is just a taster. I highly recommend purchase.

Good quality of sound on my old vinyl from the 1970's.
I kept my vinyl but got rid of my record player. This is an excellent replacement. I love it. There are cheaper systems but for me this was well worth the extra money.

Very complicated
Far too complicated to operate. Managed after a long while to operate one of the CD sections but poor quality with background hum. Have given up trying to operate any other of the functions.
