Works great, saves money
Just as good as the more expensive ones in the stores. Good quality and better price than the big stores. I'd buy again.

Thoughtfully designed. Well made. Worth the money.
These are well machined and finished deck screws with features not found in other products in this category. Before you decide if these are the best screws for your project, it is important to understand the benefits of these various features. Starting at the top you will notice the star or “torx” drive feature. One can reasonably assume that 6 point on the star is more than 4 points on a Phillips screwdriver, therefore, because more is better, the torx will outperform its ancestor. However, the truly radical element of this design is the nearly total lack of taper on the bit. A Phillips screwdriver bit is virtually designed to climb out of its matching recess because of the way it tapers to a point. The walls of a torx recess are nearly perpendicular to the face of the screw. This allows for dramatically more torque to be transferred to the screw without risk if slipping. Since you want the screw to make the hole in the wood and not your screwgun bit, this will be an important benefit. Unless you are looking for it, you may miss the next feature, located just on the other side of the countersink screw head. On a standard wood screw, the angled surface is ground smooth, because it is expected you will drive a preliminary pilot hole near the same size and shape as the screw it will receive. If you drive a normal wood screw with just a screw gun and no pilot whole, the screw will sit slightly proud of the surface, because there is no room for the cone of metal. The screw is just compressing the wood out of its way much the same way as a nail would. On these Hillman brand screws, the angled surface of the head features six sharply raised ridges or nibs. As the screw is driven home, these nibs scrape out the wood to provide a matching recess so the screw can sink to even or if desired below the surface. The shaft features an aggressive thread pattern which will firmly hold your project together. Because it is finished with a protective coating reminiscent of Teflon, these screws drive in easily. That job is made even easier thanks to the self drilling tip which is the last features of this superior simple machine. It is this last feature, the self drilling tip that requires a word of warning. This item is a screw, not a miracle. The shaft of the screw is not designed to pull wood up out of the hole. Therefore, it you are driving these onto the end a a board, you will still need to drive a pilot hole. It need not be countersunk, but you can't drive a wedge into the end of a board and not expect it to split. I received nothing in return for this positive review. I rely on Amazon reviews all the time. This is my way of paying forward, and a small effort to reward a company for a job well done.

Same quality but cheaper than your big box stores
Buy these here! Less expensive than Home Depot and Lowe’s Home Improvement. We bought many boxes of these to screw in our 350’ of picket fence we built ourselves! When you use that many screws, you need to find the least expensive. This worked for us.

Good screws
These are great screws for any outside wood project. I got these to replace 12 feet of 6 foot fence panels and they work great. The 2.5 length is perfect because a 3 inch pokes through the fence

Poor packaging but good product
I used these Deck Plus 3-1/2” exterior wood and fence screws for a recent project, and overall, I’m really impressed with how they performed. The screws themselves are excellent. They drive in smoothly, bite well into the wood, and hold everything together very securely. The coarse threads make a noticeable difference, especially for decking and fence work. The epoxy coating is a nice touch too—it gives confidence that they’ll hold up well outdoors and resist rust over time. The tan color also blends in nicely with treated wood, which helps give a cleaner, more finished look. That said, the packaging could definitely be better. The box wasn’t in great shape when it arrived, and it didn’t feel as sturdy as I’d expect for something this heavy. Also, while it’s nice that a Torx/star bit is included, it wears out pretty quickly. I’d recommend picking up a higher-quality bit to go with these, especially if you’re doing a bigger project. Overall, the screws themselves are high quality and get the job done really well. Just don’t rely too much on the included bit, and be prepared for less-than-perfect packaging. Still a solid buy for any outdoor project.

Worked for me and a good price
Maybe it’s too early for a review as I used these to rebuild/repair my garden beds which are simply pressure treated 2 x 6’s in a rectangular pattern x 12 - we shall see 5 years from now if they hold up. I must admit I bought them on sale and they were less expensive than Home Depot or Lowe’s in a similar type - however they seemed just fine and I have no complaints- I think I will order again if needed whether they are on sale or not. Oh one more thing- they came in a very handy plastic case instead of a cardboard box - bad news is that plastic case got broken in transit- oh well- I almost complained but did not - the screws were a OK.

No stripping!
I do a bit of fence and deck repair (for a SQL Server DBA :D), and have been resisting moving from phillips screws, as I am like the old guys in the commercials that are becoming their parents. I decided to get a box of these for a gate, and after just a few minutes, I'm wondering why I didn't make the switch years ago! They go in quickly and consistently, using the Milwaukee cordless drills power so much better than phillips screws. They also have the reinforced neck, so they go in flush every time. I highly recommend these!
