Farmhouse Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light Fixture, 2-Light Industrial Metal Cage Ceiling Lamp, Vintage Close to Ceiling Lighting, Wood and Matte Black Finish

To say the install was interesting would be an understatement. So here’s the scoop from someone that has installed many lights in my home and other homes.The instructions show it being installed to the ceiling with anchors. I don’t know about where you live, but a ceiling box is code and you should never install a fixture to the drywall ceiling. Baffling. Plus the wires are supposed to just hang out in empty open space? Say what?!Also, since most people do or should have an existing box to attach the mounting brackets, there is a big problem when attaching the bracket to the box.The bolts to attach the bracket to the box get in the way of the width needed to affix the plate and secure the light.The bolt heads come into contact with each other making it not so flush to the box and bracket but for me it is as secure as it will get and it will stay put.Here’s what needs to change. The pre-drilled holes for the ceiling plate need to be closer to the center to allow for a clean bracket attachment to the box…not almost the same width. Duh.Also for customers within the US, don’t use the anchors and always use a box to attach to. Huge code violation without it and it’s not safe to have wires be unprotected without a plastic or metal box.Last but not least. Some of the accent knobs and screws came completely loose with some off and loose in the packaging and had signs of disturbance on the screw heads. I also flipped the knobs and screws around so the knob would be visible from the outside.If you’re a good with problem solving, this install shouldn’t be too bad, but it’s definitely not normal and the most odd alignment I’ve seen on a fixture plate.

I really hate listing this at 3 stars, but the install and the brightness of the lights were disappointing. This light is a beautiful Farmhouse style light, and appearance wise is a great addition. This was a pain to install, the screws were not long enough, so we had to use previous hardware screws, and then went and got additional screws so plate would install. The company did reach out to us in regards to some design faults, and for that I give kudos as they are willing to give you whatever you need to install (I seen the email after we installed) Another drawback for me, and this is more a personal design preference. I hoped the light would give off enough brightness for my dining room, which is a enclosed area of oh 11x11 or maybe 12x12 room. The lights send a shadow and beam off of the ceiling, which gives very little light down.

This light is not to big or small. Just a nice touch for your ceiling. I did think it had wood on it but, I must have missed that. However, you cant tell when it is hanging. Used it in the boys bedroom.

The inside rim of the light fixture is not the same color as the outside and looks like someone forgot to paint it. The inside of both light sockets (where you actually screw-in the light bulb) are loose and just turn. Had I noticed these flaws prior to installation, I would’ve returned it. To fix the flaw with the inside rim, I used all-in-one paint and got it to match the rest of the fixture. For the sockets, just pulled them out enough to hold secure so a light bulb could be screwed-in and then pushed it back into the metal holder. Sure, it all looks as it should now, but for the price I expected at least minimal quality. I don’t know if they are made this way or if I just got a “lemon”. Either way, just want to make others are aware of what they may be getting and to check the fixture prior to installation.

This fixture was easy to install. I like having the bulb exposed and it provides the much needed light in my home office. I would recommend this product.
