The packaging is questionable as the part comes in a hot-glued shut cardboard box with no additional packaging. The part just flops around in the box, but it's the real deal. Pry up the end of the hose fittings and squirt in some WD-40 or other liquid lube to help get the fixed hoses off of the OEM thermostat. You can use a pry bar or screw-driver to get the OEM clip hoses off of the OEM thermostat as it has some places you can pry against. The OEM clip-hoses fit SUPER snug onto the replacement. Takes some wiggling and force to put the hose back on. Even with some coolant acting as lube on the gaskets. Cleared my P0128 and the car is back up and running like it should be. 2007 Z4

Fitted to a BMW 2006 E85 Z4. Was worried about it being plastic as the original was metal, but I have had no issues with it. Not sure the pipe clips will come off without breaking it, but I hope I don't have to get it off again ! Works well, no issues.
