After so many years of the salt being packaged in an instantly recognizable, reliable, and satisfying cardboard canister -- they finally changed the packaging -- and it's AWFUL. It's the cheapest flimsy white plastic container that the lid hardly stays on. Why do this?Now, when you reach up to grab it from your shelf it's like a little junky garbage pail that might spill all over you, not the brightly colored, reliable canister of old. In addition, they have not updated the product photos to indicate this, so beware (I am including a photo so you can see what you will actually get when ordering the 35.2 oz (2.2 lb) product).The good news is, it's the same fantastic salt, so I'll probably continue to buy it, despite being aggravated with this unwelcome twist to the packaging. But I seriously hope the packaging team will listen to users and right the ship on this one. Packaging does matter for user experience, and this downgrading of quality does not suit this otherwise fabulous product.

I settled on Le Saunier De Camargue Fleur De Sel Sea Salt years and years ago after trying quite a few of the competitors. It wasn't a scientific test, just what tasted the best to me, so this is totally subjective review.What I like about this particular salt is the consistency and how well it perks up the flavor of whatever you put it on. To be very specific, sprinkling this on a fresh slice of a high quality tomato takes the tomato from a 10 out of 10 to a tilt warning. Just let it sit for a little while and grind fresh black pepper on top of the salt. Combine this with other simple ingredients and you have a heavenly meal.For years I always bought the small containers that always seemed overpriced so I started buying the kilo package when it became available in the US. This size is much more reasonably priced per ounce. There was one downside to that and it was that the packaging was all cardboard and subject to getting torn apart during shipment and it did not adequately protect the salt from high humidity summers. Lately that has been addressed with the new plastic tub container, solving both issues and is also reusable.

I used to buy the small 4 oz size but this is the best salt for the best value hands down! You will not be disappointed 😜

For all of the years it's been harvested, the price SHOULD BE lower, and the all products should have a shrink wrap plastic seal.This does NOT!!

I ordered 2.2 LB (1 kg) of this fine salt. It arrived less than 48 hrs later in manufacturer packing completely intact and well wrapped in bubble wrap. I am thrilled with this purchase. When I run out, I will order more again from this Seller.

I was more hesitant about the prior packaging problems than the quality of the product. Looks like the company has resolved the issue since the salt comes in a plastic container now. Very pleased with the taste. Just what I was looking for!

Love the salt, its getting hard to find so I was glad to see Amazon had it. The container was the weakpoint, The container was cardboard with a plastic top and then it was placed in a bigger box, butnot solidly wrapped so it got shaken up quite a lot and much of the salt was loose .

The media could not be loaded.  Ich habe zunächst eine kleine Dose gekauft und bin dann durch Begeisterung auf die großen Dosen dieses Fleur de Sel übergegangen. Ich kann den Geschmack, dieses bissige von "normalem" Kochsalz kaum noch ertragen. Ich finde es erschlägt sehr schnell feine Aromen. Wenn es zB darum geht Tomatensalat zu salzen verwende ich ausschlieslich dieses Salz, ich empfinde es als deutlich angenehmer und aromatischer als normales Kochsalz. Das normale Kochsalz verwende ich kaum noch beim Kochen, weil der Geschmack schlicht zu penetrant ist für mich. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist bei diesem Salz für mich großartig. Ich habe auch schon sehr viel teureres Fleur de Sel gekauft und probiert, doch konnte ich keinen extremen Geschmacksunterschied für mich feststellen. Dieses Salz hier schmeckt uns in all unseren Salzmühlen gemahlen am besten. Dieses Salz kann ich so pur essen, Kochsalz hingegen nicht. Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung von mir und 5 Sterne.

Das Salz ist super! Leider kommen die Dosen wegen unzureichender Verpackung zum zweiten Mal beschädigt an. Eine Rückgabe ist nach Amazon-Richtline nicht möglich.

I have ordered this salt before with no issues. The box arrived intact.I opened the box and the canister that held the salt was crushed and there was salt coming out of both ends of the container.I asked for a refund and the message said no refund.This does not seem fair to me.

Contrairement à l'image vu lors de l'achat, ce n'est pas une chaudière en plastique solide mais plutôt un contenant en carton avec le fond en carton pas très solide ce qui fait qu'avec le poids du sel, le fond à défoncé. Une chance qu'il y a un emballage en papier bulle qui a retenu le sel. J'ai dû collé le fond avec du ruban adhésif. Mis à part ce défaut, le sel est exactement ce que je voulais et le poids de 1Kg est exact. Le prix revient moins cher par rapport à un petit pot de 125gr à 9.00$ dans un super marché.
