So easy to use with stain
This made staining so easy and left a perfectly applied stain. I used a preconditioned first then this applicator. What a joy to use. Wipe on and spreads evenly. Awesome!

Works well!
Worked very well to apply finish Waterlux. No bubbles!

I Wouldn't Buy This One Again
I bought two lambswool applicators on Amazon to put Waterlox on our countertops. I found that this one cleaned up easier with mineral spirits after use, but caused a lot of bubbles during application. As it compromised the finish (which I had to correct), I wouldn't purchase this one again.

DON’T LET THE NAME OLD MASTERS FOOL YOU.
I THOUGHT THESE LAMBSWOOL PADS WOULD BE LIKE THE ONES I HAD PREVIOUSLY GOTTEN FROM LOWES, BUT THEY ARE EQUAL IN QUALITY TO THE OTHER BRAND THAT AMAZON SELLS FOR ~$10 LESS.I had purchased both because of the time needed for the job I was doing. The less expensive job did adequate for applying a water based sealant to new wood. I was chagrined and disappointed to find that the Old Masters pads when they finally arrived were exactly the same quality and construction as the other cheaper brand, certainly not worthy the nearly $11 difference in price.

I will use it again!!!
Yes this will leave fuzz, before I use it I take tape and spend a few minutes cleaning it up. I have refinished lots of furniture and applied poly with a brush, foam brush..... this made a perfect finish. I am amazed by the lack of ripples that seem to be unnoticeable until you see a true smooth finish. I sanded between coats and had a stray fuzz or two that needed removal.

Fur falls out
I bought a similar applicator 10 years ago for my deck and loved it. This new one is half an hour used and has hair falling out into my stain. It’s coat it very thin compared to my old one. I wish I knew the brand of the old one. 10 years old and used every year on left. Old Masters used for half and hour pictured in right.

Quality has deteriorated and the price almost doubled
The quality has deteriorated since I first started buying these. Less fluff, and the hides are spliced with glue on one pad. Also, the price has shot up.

One Star
Too much debris for fine finish work. Lots of "junk" in the finish. Avoide
