The USB Defender is a great product! Works perfectly. The product has value on multiple fronts. First, if you are traveling and need to charge your phone in a hotel or use public USB ports (kiosks), you run the risk of malware infection, data & identity theft - and don't think this isn't a real problem. The USB Defender protects devices from this type of exposure. The other great benefit is when USB charging a phone while connected to a pc/laptop. It is nice to not have iTunes open every time I want to charge my phone while working on a pc/laptop. If you have a friend that needs to charge their phone, how can you be sure the phone is malware free? With this USB Defender device, you remain protected. It is comforting that not only can you protect yourself from hackers while charging your phone, but also letting people charge their phone on your equipment keeps you protected! The product works exactly as advertised, and is a sold at a great value. At such a reasonable price, I plan on purchasing more of these USB Defenders to keep with my various products. A truly great product. I highly recommend.

This USB condom eliminates any data exchange while allowing charging, protecting your privacy in the process. Yea, it's a hassle to carry around, but everyone knows that you don't send credit card numbers in email, why would you connect your phone to a unknown USB port at the airport or motel?

They work exactly as advertised, they disable (or more accurately don't connect) data lines in usb, leaving just the power. These gave me the confidence to plug in my phone for charging ANYWHERE, whereas I am normally paranoid about plugging my phone into strange usb ports. Solid craftsmanship as well. 5 stars

Great little device, only the charge contacts are engaged, no data can flow either way, a simple physical removal of the data path is you best bet for data security on untrusted USB outlets. Worthwhile accessory, you need one.

I used this in a couple of airports and hotels on a recent US trip. It’s easy to use and my phone and Kindle were not compromised. The real test will be on future overseas trips, but so far, so good.

I travel quite a bit both domestically and internationally and I'm always concerned about plugging my iphone and/or ipad into a public usb port to charge. I knew that hackers can exploit these public ports and possible install malware on a device, so I started looking around for a data blocker. Quite a few available, but reading the product description, the USB Defender seemed to be at the top of the list. I purchased a number of these and then sent them to my tech friends to see if they truly did block data. Feedback was yes, the devices did do what they were advertised to do. Are there better ones out there? Maybe, but these work and you can't beat the price. I now travel with one and never, not even in a rental car, plug any of my USB chargers into a public usb port without this protection.

Got this for a vacation and seems to do what it claims. I tested it with my phone plugged into a computer at work, it only charged without recognizing it as a device. Seems a little pricey for a USB to USB connector with a few wires missing, but handy to have for travel.
