Better than Rolaids for relief. Set pressure in=more, out=less. Tighten lock nut. It may seep a little air at 5 psi., I used it as a stupid prevention problem in case I turn the regulator knob the wrong way and blow up the world again.

Update 11/25/19: After trying this thing several times I discovered the keg leaked down to zero. Turns out that even when set to the highest setting, it will still slowly leak. Soap bubble test shows the valve was leaking, not the threads or connectors.Like other reviews have reported, the device uses a steel ball in a machined brass seat with no seal. Unfortunately it's not polished or seated, so the thing will always leak. Even trying to "seat" it by tapping the ball into the seat with a brass drift and machinist's hammer would not provide a good seal.Don't bother. For something like a blow-off valve for counter-pressure filling or maintaining pressure for keg conditioning it's worthless.

This valve will not hold a set pressure, it eventually leaks to zero (within seconds). A steel ball sealing against a brass socket, really, the machining would have to be perfect...and it is not. Returned the unit and got a replacement thinking the first was just missing a seal (there isn't one). The second one did the same thing. I even tried applying some back-pressure (vacuum) to both and even then the valve would not seal. Will not hold pressure at any set point, don't waste your money or time like I did.I ended up buying the CR25-100 adjustable PRV, which has a higher upper pressure limit, but works as expected and does the job.
