3020 Thermostat, Non-Programmable, 1H/1C

The digital non-programmable thermostat with auto changeover shall be a Braeburn 3020 number 3020, 3.86” high x 5.11” wide x 1.42” deep, powered with either 24 volt AC or with two “aa” alkaline batteries (3.0 volt dc). the thermostat shall be compatible with low voltage single stage gas, oil, or electric heating or cooling systems, and single stage heat pump systems. Also compatible with 250Mv – 750Mv millivolt heating only systems and 2 or 3 wire hydronic zone systems. The thermostat shall have a bright blue backlight display, speedbar, separate sub-base and multi-level keypad lockout. Temperature control range shall be between 45° and 90° F (7° and 32° c), accuracy of +/- 1° F (+/- .5° c) and operating humidity range between 5% and 95% relative humidity. The thermostat shall include separate installer and user setup modes, permanent memory to retain all user, installer and temperature settings, filter, UV and humidifier pad check monitor, adaptive recovery mode (arm), residual cooling Fan delay and indoor or outdoor remote sensor capability. A front reset button will return user settings to default values when pressed. Review: Good purchase - As someone else mentioned, our old one malfunctioned and adjusted the temperature on its own. In our case up to 90. Resetting and removing and replacing batteries did it help. We had no choice but to replace it. When I tried to use the new unit with the old base I had a problem where it worked in reverse. When set to cool and setting the temperature down the heat came on. And I couldn't get the cooling to come on. Turns out the default system settings were not right for our system. To correct this I examined the old system settings on the old unit and set the new one to match them. Turns out the type of unit chosen was wrong. It was 1H1C but a different one. Once I did that the unit worked perfectly! Hope this helps someone else as it was not good when it didn't work right at first! Their support site just suggested that something was wired in reverse or our system was bad and didn't mention these settings as a possibility! To be clear I used the old base as it was and the new front which worked perfectly once I set the system settings in the thermostat unit correctly using the installer directions to access the settings. Review: Works great, BUT I deducted a Star because it's "footprint" ... - used to replace an older Braeburn thermostat model 3200. Works great, BUT I deducted a Star because it's "footprint" is smaller than older thermostat, now exposing a different-colored paint ring around thermostat on a green wall.
