For plants to grow, they require a variety of minerals to be present in your soil. Obviously, not all areas of the world will have the right combination of minerals and our overall soil conditions are declining due to soil erosion and past fertilizer/pesticide use, among other issues. If a plant is missing or deficient on even one single mineral that it needs to grow then your crop and yield will suffer. One of the problems is that so many of the fertilizer programs and products out there focus so much on the macro nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium. Hence, why most products are labeled by their N-P-K ratios. If you are using these products, you're not supplementing other minerals in the soil that are still just as necessary. This represents the "Law of the Minimum", developed by Justus von Liebig, who has been dubbed the 'father of fertilizer'. (Think the concept of 'a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link'..) Luckily, AZOMITE actually gets it's name for the trace minerals found within it; it's an acronym for "A to Z of Minerals Including Trace Elements". It contains over 67 trace minerals. This is granulated AZOMITE for slow release minerals and nutrients into your soil. AZOMITE is a good amendment for crops, compost and potting soil. It is used to increase size and yield of fruit as well as to help plants fend off disease. Granular AZOMITE is easily applied by hand or common spreaders. Flowers/Plants/Vegetables: When preparing the soil, use at the rate of 1 lb. per 10 sq. ft. If in rows, mix into the soil along the rows at rate of 1 lb. per 25 ft. of row. If bed is established, sprinkle around each plant. For house plants: Mix 1 teaspoon per 2 inch pot diameter with potting soil before planting. Give 1 teaspoon quarterly thereafter. For roses, apply 1.2 lb. to 1 lb. to the soil around each plant and lightly till into soil.
