It’s a great book!
I purchased this for my mother who has been on a journey of learning to play the violin at age 64! She’s used other books from this series and enjoys them. She likes that there is a step up in level when switching to the more advanced book. It’s a jump in ability, but nothing that practice helps you overcome and achieve! Over all she has really enjoyed this book and it’s series. She says she highly recommends to anyone who is on their own violin journey!

Comprehensive & User Friendly
I use different methods depending on the student and his/her needs. I find this series moves at a good pace for students from fourth grade through ninth. It is comprehensive, includes position work, and many short, but lovely pieces to go along with new skills learned. The print is large and the overall presentation is user friendly.

This series has helped me to enjoy picking up my violin again
This series has helped me to enjoy picking up my violin again. I love how it helps me practice my technique with fun and beautiful pieces, not just dry exercises. Even the studies are enjoyable to play. Grateful for finding this!

Great book for enthusiastic learners!
ABCs of violin book 4 is the best book for learning 2nd and 3rd positions and easy melodies involving shifting. My students especially like the clear explanations, and they tell me the CD that comes with the book is enjoyable while using it at home during practice sessions. It provides valuable warm up exercises, scales and arpeggios that are important for students. I highly recommend Ms. Janice Tucker Rhoda's books because they provide clear explanation for the enthusiastic learner.

very good for learning 2nd position on violin
this ABCs of Violin bk 4 is helpful for all of my students who have advanced through 3rd position and are ready to tackle 2nd position. Simple familiar melodies and exercises covering all 4 strings in a logical sequence my students understand readily and enjoy practicing. It's the best way to begin students in 2nd position before moving on to more complex material such as the Whistler books.

when I began to study violin, it was easy to follow the lesson because of the DVD, nevertheless the Cd's are a greater challenge
