The gates are just what I needed to contain some rambunctious dogs, but the instructions left a lot to be desired. Also, the screws that hold the two gate pieces together would not even go through the holes until I drilled them out a little. But once they were both up, I was too happy to remember all the problems getting them up. Take your time installing and you will be happy with the result.

I got the gate to keep my son from going upstairs. So far so good but installing it wasn't that easy. First off the template was off. We had to wind up drilling holes twice. Secondly the holes in the metal weren't even drilled big enough to put the bolts in. We had to enlarge the holes by drilling them bigger. The directions were basically useless. They were picture only.It's a good gate once you've got it installed. So if you don't mind the initial headache I recommend the gate.

Relatively easy to install but getting the closure to line up so it is easy to use is not so easy. Sturdy and tall but I can see a child opening it up by pushing hard enough. I use it for dogs so that's not so much of an issue to me.

I was looking for a pet gate that was very tall and would swing out of the way for full width gate access when moving things.This one does the job, it covers the stairs down to a basement area - if mounted properly to a solid wall / wood studs or solid wood framing it seems very solid. Most of the width is available to pass through. It is reasonably straight forward to install assuming reasonable mechanical skills with finding studs / using a tape measure etc.. The gate is relatively heavy, the two pieces are held together with plastic clips which work but aren't super easy to join and seem solid enough but not amazing.The gate is relatively heavy (solid) but you have to lift it and depress a lever to open. My mother can get through it, but it isn't super easy for her. Unfortunately it does not swing closed and latch - you also have to lift it and notch it into the latch to close it properly. It works fine, but isn't a easy hands full operation and I wouldn't want it on a frequently used space, it does the job well for occasional access.We bought another gate, for another area, which is tension fit (not as solid, but still good) not quite as tall - but it springs closed on its own, stays open when fully open, and latches automatically - much better for frequent use and easier to pass through when your hands are full (it has a smaller section that swings open, lighter and easier to handle, but not full width for passing larger objects through. Still does require lifting and pressing a latch, but a bit easier - mostly easier to close.)All in all, pretty happy with it, but it doesn't function as easily as some other options.

We still needed to add a small board to the top of the doorway so he couldn't clear it but my rottweiler mutt has not been able to shoulder his way thru this gate.

A little tricky to put up the hardware (and wish it was sturdier hardware rather than plastic), but with that said, it is EXACTLY what we needed to keep the cat safe & away when guests visit with their dogs, or little children who want to attempt the stairway! It's nice and tall so cat won't jump over it and can't fit through the bars. The main reason is this seems to be the ONLY GATE WITH NO FLOOR TRACK to trip over, and the Gate OPENS ALL THE WAY to walk through, which is awesome! A wonderful Scandinavian design.

I was looking for a tall gate for my incorrigible dog and this was the tallest. It took some power tools to install. The fastener is made of plastic , which broke quickly- should be metal! We had to rig something up to use it. Other than that, it foils our naughty dog.

Due to the hinge points being on the top and bottom rail, there is no option to adjust the mounting height of the gate if attaching to a short wall or post. Both the hinge side and latch side require a solid mounting material a couple inches above the top of the gate which just barely fit our short wall. No fault of the designer, but wish I’d looked closer at the product photos and thought through our application. Was hoping to match the top to the height of our wall. Black gate with white plastic hardware isn’t the greatest look, but otherwise a nice gate system.
