This has got to be the best patch holder i've ever used. Before this, i'd used the plastic ones from hoppes, in anywhere from 22 cal up to 30cal and even 12 ga After breaking several of them off in barrels when attempting to run a tight patch through, i decided to order one that was metal. This one does not dissappoint: its cheap, its made out of brass, and will withstand the most abuse of any patch holder. HIGHLY RECOMMEND much better than the plastic patch holders

...a patch holder is a patch holder. If cost is a big concern, purchase a plastic patch holder. Unless you are careless or extremely aggressive cleaning your firearm, a plastic patch holder works just as well. With that said, this is an excellent brass patch holder. It works best (for me) on a .380 or 9mm firearm (too large for a .22 or .32 caliber barrel). I double-up on patches when using this holder on a .45 caliber firearm for a thorough cleaning.

i was looking to purchase a patch holder since my Hoppes kit did not include one i could use in a .22 bore-- kind of odd. i found a Hoppes-made version here on Amazon, but it was plastic. this made me worry, and seeing a few reviews from users who broke the plastic tool really concerned me. i found the Pro-Shot, and my only question was 'will it thread onto the cleaning rod found in the Hoppes kit?' the answer is 'yes'. (while writing this review, i discovered that this was asked and answered in another user's review.) works like a charm... no complaints!

I like this patch holder - it is quite sturdy and well made. I would have given it 5 stars except for one minor thing: the description states it will work with .22 - .45, which is true - however, it is only slightly smaller than the .22 bore, so you'd best use a very small patch if you are going to use it with .22. Other than that it is an excellent product and works great for anything larger than .22..

I've broken 2 of the cheap plastic patch holders that are normally included with any average cleaning kit. Not in the barrel, but just while threading the patch into the holder! If you have ever done that, this is the answer to your problem! Soft brass holder won't bend, break, or damage your rifle! Love this! It fits my Hopps rods and my Remington cables. Buy it to replace all those cheap plastic holders that will break at the most inopportune time... its worth it!

High quality brass tip for your cleaning rods .22 thru .45 caliber. I thought this was a great price and value considering the high quality of this patch holder which is solid brass. It fit my Outers and Otis gun cleaning kits rods. Very sturdy and should last for many years.

This fit on my Hoppe's gun cleaning rod no problem. It worked very well in my 22lr Ruger guns. Much better than those plastic ones. They tend to bend. I'd recommend this product.

it's Brass.. sooo how many levels above the plastic ones that come in most cleaning kits, that don't cost a small fortune and come with who knows how many attachments i'll never use, is that? for this price, more than enough :)
