This worked great for me. Its not 5 stars because I did have to use one of my wife's hair bands to help secure it. I got great video during a drive mounting this to my dash.

The bracket seems good and provides a verity of positions to hold your phone. The adjustable arms are easy to change to accommodate different size phones and the bottom arm can be moved from side to side to accommodate phones with off center charge points or headphone jacks.I have a textured soft touch dashboard and the base sticks to it just fine, I moved it around a few times and there was no sticky residue left behind and it seem to remain in place, I'll need to see over time how long it stays.I was not able to use the position shown in the picture with the arm fully extended, this made the base come lose which is a shame since it's the only way to position the phone without obscuring your view of the road to much.There seems to be a lot of play in the arm which causes the phone to bounce around with road vibrations, so do not expect to get any sort of watchable video if you are planning on recording video while driving.###################################So a week later and the base not stick to my dashboard anymore. I have cleaned the surface and stuck it back on, but after a few minutes the mount comes lose and falls off. I am not willing to stick this to my windshield due to the size and amount of obstruction it causes to your view. I will not recommend buying this item.

Gum is not sticking properly on the surface. Every time we have to press the attachment part.

Do not recommend - does not support weight of phone
I wanted this to work because it was so sleek and low profile, but it just did not. First of all, the knut for adjusting the arm kept falling off as I adjusted it and I'd have to carefully get it out and try to line things back up - very annoying and it would be really easy to lose this little piece. But most importantly, it did not support the weight of my phone. I tried a number of different angles and on both my dash and window but could not get it to stay in place for more than 30 minutes while driving. This was very frustrating, as I would be driving down the highway using my phone for navigation and having to deal with it suddenly detaching and falling. Would not recommend.

Great Buy and Choice!
I just received this today. It was easy to install I used it tonight, I'm a Lyft driver and I love it. Stayed on my car, my phone fits in it even with a cover. I have a Samsung Note 4. Held my heavy phone very steady, no jiggling, and it was very Secure! I recommend this product! And it opened up my vent and does not get in the way of any of my car controls. Yay!

The part that actually holds the phone isn't so great
It works well if your phone is not in a case. The side grips are barely able to grab the edges of my slim phone case, giving it a precarious grip on my phone. It feels like it will fall out at any time. The rest of the holder -- the base and the adjustable are great -- I just wish the part that actually holds the phone were designed a little better. I'm keeping it only because I've tried several that didn't work for different reasons and I'm tired of searching.
