This is a comprehensive learn to read program. Fun to help your little ones learn to read.

Quality of material is just fine. I love the amount you get in the set. The pictures that go along with the words is what we needed for a jump start and the lessons give really good information for practice. We haven’t even gotten through the “work book” part and she has already started reading short sentences (about 1 month to the day of the purchase). It is incredibly helpful for stay at home families. Good buy. Will buy more.

Great way to learn phonics.

The video is simple enough for children to understand and fun to keep the children playing while they learn.

This is a ten star item. I have used Hooked on Phonics extensively in the past with preschool and kinder children with autism and with my own grandchildren. It is beautifully organized, very simple to use, extremely parent-friendly, well sequenced and provides a solid foundation in phonics for young learners. It is just about 100% fail-proof if used as directed. The videos are not the same high quality as the rest of the program, but they can be ignored. The essential elements are the workbook and the story book readers. Highly, highly recommended, along with the more advanced levels of the program.

If your child struggles to read, I recommend this. Before I got this, my daughters would have trouble, now they can read and sound the words out with ease. Hope this helps.

I've been using Hooked on Phonics with a variety of children of different ages in the education system for a couple of decades and I have found it to be very effective with kids who had fallen behind in the regular curriculum. This edition is the third and it is a considerable upgrade from the last one. Level 3 and 4 correspond to level 1 in the last system. It is very nicely laid out with more colour, better stories. Even though I still have my well used full second edition, I found it very worthwhile to upgrade to this one. Now retired, I'm using it for grandchildren who are out of school due to the Covid lockdown. I'll be checking out the next levels once the kids get through these.

With remote learning if full swing we wanted a good reading system for our 5 year old so she doesn't fall behind. This set is perfect! Her reading has advanced since we started and most importantly she likes it!
