THE VIEW AT THE ZOO

My daughter asks us to read this book every night - she absolutely LOVES it. We look at the antics from the line on each page and we talk about the animals and the people. I thought it was extremely CLEVER of the author to have it tell the story this way because the book reads from both the people's view point as well as the animals which shows there is ALWAYS more than one way to understand a story. Love love love. Such a fun book for me to be able to read to her. And also, remember to play "find the monkey" - we always try to spot the monkey wearing the cap first on each page. GREAT book all around and so thankful it was part of our Amazon box. (Remember if you don't want one included you can always review and swap out what books you do want which is so useful as well.)

Totally bananas over this book! Super cute book for young children. My preschoolers loved it. Not a lot of text and bright vivid colors kept them highly engaged! Loved the different twist this book had about looking at the people who came to the zoo instead of the typical people looking at the animals.

My toddler loves animals.. So this book was a big hit! If you have ever taken your little one to the zoo or intend to, this is a perfect book to read afterwards! The illustrations are so bright and fun, the rhythm of the story flows so nicely that my toddler is able to read along and say the rhyming words, and it is just a cute book that introduces some really cool animals. It's Short enough to keep the attention of young ones but long enough to tell a good story and teach along the way. Highly recommend! We read it every night before bed.

The story is pretty simple, but the illustrations add a lot to the book. The story is about what the ANIMALS see at the zoo, but that is not necessarily apparent in the reading alone. When you look at the images, eventually you get that the people and the animals are essentially the same so the text represents both the humans and the animals... and at the end of the book it is more apparent that its the animal's perspective. Good book to read before going to the zoo.

Illustrations are very bright and vibrant. My toddlers love when I do the animal noises for each animal on the page and introduced them to a few new animals they hadn't seen before (koala).Cute little story too and not too long for my 15 month old.
