Buy this, not that! (that being the name brand cube)
I know what you're thinking. It's a chinese knockoff cube, it can't be as good as the name brand. It's not. It's way better. I've been cubing for years, trust me, this is the only cube I buy for beginners anymore. Right out of the box, it's stellar. It turns fluidly and easily, which is something that can't be said for the name brand cube. The hidden magnets inside make for really positive engagement on turns which can be really helpful for beginners. You don't have to know if you've lined it up for the next twist, the cube lines itself up as soon as you're close. There's no stickers to wear out and the cube is really tight and well constructed to last a literal lifetime. Again, the same can't be said about the name brand model. The best part though is that this is really a speedcube. It's got a lot of adjustability and is designed to come apart if you need to take it apart. Most cubers just learn to solve the cube and say "good enough" and this cube functions perfectly for that. Others will want to go further and figure out how to do the sub 30 second solves. Usually, they'll need to buy a new speedcube -- which aren't always good for beginners due to their looseness. With this cube, they can continue no matter where their cubing journey takes them. It's really just about the perfect cube.

This cube has smooth cutting cuz of its maglev adjusting system, the maglev is persisting and strong, which makes the cube easy to turn. Love it

My son loves it
My 8 year old loves this speed cube. It's definitely a notch up, and every side is adjustable with the resistance, so great for beginner through intermediate, I would say. He's been using it alot and it seems to be holding up well so far.
