Best Chess Set Ever XL - Chess Board Game with Quadruple Weight Tournament Pieces, Green Silicone Ch

This is an excellent Chess Set. All the pieces are made to tournament quality. It is an excellent set to teach children how to play chess. The board folds up for easy storage. My only complaint would be that the pieces come in cheap plastic bag which may be replaced by zippered plastic bag. All fit into the box and can be taken anywhere. We filed down the tips on the Queen pieces which seemed rather sharp, but no biggie. Happy with my purchase

Just received, got the quad weighted set. Pieces are big and burly, fit the board ideally, excited to play with it. Couple issues:1. Two edges of the box have been mangled, this is a small thing but a little annoying.2. The silicon board has creases in it. Not sure if this is expected out of the box however the "impervious to spills, stains, creases and chips." is already in question. I have books sitting on the board down flat in order to try and get them ironed out. Won't be pleased if the creases remain.3. Strategy guide was nowhere to be found.The pieces are great and if the board irons out I'll be satisfied despite the poorly handled box and no strategy guide. Disappointing though to open a package and have immediate critiques of the purchase.

I bought this for my son as a Christmas present. Would have given if 5 stars, but didn't come with the strategy guide as advertised.Returned this twice because it didn't contain the strategy guide, no troubles with returning it, but the third box arrived.... also without a strategy guide, and it was too close to Christmas to return and get the fourth one in time.Other than that, My son and I both love this thing. Very heavy sturdy pieces, Good feel. Mat doesn't wrinkle.Would definately buy again, but can't give it 5 stars when it didn't come with the strategy guide as advertised.

The chess set is expensive; us chess federation has tournament sets which are very adequate. I brought this one because it is quadruple weighted and it came with a strategy guide. The mat , or "board" is made of some kind of plastic that simply attracts particles and hair and they stick to the matt and it is distracting and difficult to clean.The worse part was that I brought this more expensive set because it came with a "strategy" guide which would have been very useful to my kids. Instead, it came without the strategy guide! we looked everywhere in the packaging to make sure we did not miss it and simply could not find it. This was a disappointment for the price we paid. I do not recommend this product; you can simply go to USCF site and buy a similar or better and cheaper.

The product is everything as described. The pieces are heavy, with a nice heft. The board lies flat, and can be rolled up for travel. Super convenient. The Queen's crown is a bit pointy, I filed it down a bit; but for adults, no problems. The felt on the bottoms of the pieces is a nice touch. In short, everything is as described and promised. Delivery was faster than expected, which was nice also.

It is the best chess set I have ever owned.The customer service experience was top-notch. The set I received was missing the little strategy booklet, I contacted the seller on that issue. They were courteous and fast with their responses; they sent me the booklet, free of charge, even though I live overseas.Let's talk quality. The quadruple weight and the wide base of the pieces make them very stable and really hard to knock off the board, which comes really handy when playing blitz and rapid games. The clinking sound of the pieces when hitting each other is satisfyingly unique, especially when enjoying a quality game in a quiet setting.No matter what your level of chess experience and enthusiasm, you won't be disappointed with the set; I can almost guarantee it.

I got this set as a Christmas present for my child who had joined chess club at school. It is a very durable and high quality set. We've had lots of fun learning the game of chess and my younger kids can play with it without me fearing they will break any of the pieces.

Nice set with a pleasing heft to the pieces. The extra set of queens are useful for promotions. The silicone mat sticks in place well making it good for use outdoors or indoors. Good customer service from the supplier.
