Purchased this to mitigate the radon in my crawl space without having to pay the exorbitant price of a professional (quoted at $900). Incredibly easy to install. It's not silent but the noise is barely noticeable after awhile.The radon in my crawl space was 4.9 pCi/L before I installed this fan. I retested after it had been running for about a day and the results came back at 1.2 pCi/L.Excellent results, excellent price!Definitely the more economic option if you don't mind a tiny bit of work.

For those considering this for radon mitigation by crawl space venting we had good results starting at 11-12 getting down to 2-3 after installing two vents with fans and one passive vent. Our crawl space had no vents prior.

have two of these fans. came on time and in perfect condition. easy to install. looking for exhaust fans for crawl space. works great. have them on timers. refreshes crawl space air approx. 25 times every day.

Do not. Use fans to remove stale air from basement. Used in conjunction with fans to bring fresh air into basement as well.Can hear fans when running especially the fans that bring air into the basement. Eg can hear hum oif fans in living room above basement. Somewhat annoying. I thought would be more quiet.

Inexpensive way to move some air in a crawlspace or basement. Nice mounting plate gives some versatility. Note that this unit has no thermostatic override, or no humidistat...... its either go, or unplug for no go. Can mount on foundation vent to increase ventilation rate, or mount on pier or joist to move air. A little noisy, otherwise would have given 5 stars. Note that this may, or may not, lower your radon levels, but it will move a some air. If using mounted on foundation vent to increase ventilation, remember it will be pulling in cold air in the winter, and pulling in hot humid air in the summer (depending on your geographical location). You may cause a bigger problem than the one you are trying to solve.

I had radon levels measuring over 6 pCi/L in a small single story house with a crawl space. Installed this unit in one of the crawl space vent openings, plugged it in and radon levels dropped below 1 pCi/L within an hour. I kept the fan running 24hrs. Fan is not noisy in my application and I can not hear it running in the living area of the home. Very well built product. Would highly recommend if you have a crawl space construction home and want to remove deadly radon. There is no safe level of radon. Why take the risk and not remove the harmful soil gases.
