AWESOME
This 10 x 30’ pool is a good size. It's roomy enough for several people to splash around, but not large enough to be overwhelming. We have a modest sized yard and it fits fine. Our 4 and 6-year-old sons love being in it and are much more confident than when they’re in the large community type pools. We can also control the water level if we don’t want it to be too deep. When filled to the top it comes up to about hip-level for me (I’m 5’3”).Assembly is a little tedious, but easy to do. It takes us about 1 1/2 hours at the most. Filling it up takes a few hours. The pool also comes with a filter, which works great, but we also buy separate chlorine tabs. Be sure to use a floating canister though; otherwise if you throw the tab in by itself it'll bleach the bottom of your pool. It does not come with a ladder, but getting in and out of it isn’t difficult for an average size person. Otherwise you can use a foot stool.Overall material is sturdy. We’ve had this pool for a year now without any noticeable wear and tear. Only negative is that after using the pool for a couple of weeks it will turn the grass underneath yellow. You could put this pool on asphalt, but it’d be a good idea to use some type of padding underneath to soften the ground. If putting it over grass, would recommend using a tarp over the grass first. This will prevent grass from growing through the bottom of the pool.

The best first pool
This is the best beginner pool. It’s hard to figure out how much of the chemicals you need because of how small it is but we managed. This was our first day with it but setup was a breeze for a pool. Can’t wait to get in it!

Great pool for a great price!
I’ve had this pool for a week so far and it’s great! It was pretty easy so assemble - I was able to do it by myself. (SN: It did not come with a mat to lay on the ground beneath the pool, so I ended up using a weed-blocking tarp and interlocking foam mats below it — provides great cushion!)The cost is the main reason I chose this pool. I am very pleased with the size and quality for this price point. The material and metal frame both seem very durable. The pump is small. On the first day it was pumping very strong. After a day or two, I noticed the water wasn’t pumping into the pool as strong as the first day. I’m not sure how long to keep it running, or if the filter needs to be changed already, but I’m going to look more into this. I’m not too alarmed, though, as the pump is still functional. It seems like this pool will last much longer than the cheap inflatable pools I’ve always purchased in the past. I’m in South Florida, so it will be used year-round, but I’m hoping to get at least a couple years out of it.

Two weeks in
I bought this as a treat for me, and with two weeks logged in, I have to say that I'm very happy, but there were some fine points and learnings I'd like to share.- Water likes level surfaces. None of my yard is level. I chose the dig and fill method, where I moved the high dirt to the low area after marking out an 11 x 11 square. I got it close to level, in the pouring rain on a really disappointing Fourth of July weekend. I still had about 3/4" to go, but called it good. 1200 gallons weighs just shy of 10,000 lbs, and that compacted my relocated dirt another 3/4", so I have a pool that is 1.5" out of level side to side. I'm good with it, but you wouldn't want any more than that. Site preparation is the real cost to this pool. You can't compromise much in that area. Consider sun, shade, leaves/ debris, mud, and closeness to a convenient power outlet before you pick your site.- I don't use the cover, though I would like to. The cover solar heats the pool a shocking amount. Just cant risk turning the pool into bathwater. As such, I use it only for mowing/leaf blowing. If I did it again, I'd buy a better quality tarp and no cover. I did find a mini-pool net with a 4' handle that is just the right scale, and completely necessary.- I didn't want to feel stones and rocks through the pool bottom, so despite careful rakeing, I needed a pad. I bought an 11 x 11 roll of fake grass carpeting from the home center. Totaled out at $89.00. I put the skimpy Intex pool tarp down, then my carpet. It was pricey, but works nice. It gives you four nice corners to take your sandals off and climb in, without creating a muddy traffic zone. I bordered the area with 6x6 logs which I had saved from a landscaping project.- The pool assembled quickly with two people, and that was a dream. It took probably 5 hours to fill. Getting the wrinkles out of the bottom is important.- Remember to fully insert the pump hoses and use the plastic hose clamps with the pump connection. Do it before the pool reaches the level of the inlets. Remember to purge the air out of the top of the pump before starting it. The pump is quiet, but sounds irregular like a coffee maker or an old can opener..why, I don't know. I treat it gently and run it about 3-4 hours a day when I get home, which is adequate. In hindsight, without a skimmer basket setup, I'm not sure the pump is all that necessary. You could mix the pool with a boat paddle, after all, and I'm not putting many contaminates in the water. (No kid activity yet)- Like many pool newbies, It wasn't until I was filling it that I considered what chemistry I needed. You can manage a pool with daily checks and bleach (its just chlorine) and Muriatic acid, both from the home center to get started.( Search "BBB Method") I use the online calculator from troublefreepool.com to know what to add. Add 10 oz of bleach to the 10 ft round intex pool, then you just need acid to balance the PH before swimming. I grabbed a basic "DPD" test kit at the pool supply. This gets you going well, but youll be adding almost that much daily due to sunlight breakdown of the chlorine, until you build up stabilizer. Stabilizer comes by buying way too much of it ($24) or by using stabilized chlorine tablets and a floater. Stabilizer stays in the water and never breaks down, so you may want to start with tablets for a while, build up stabilzer, and then switch to bleach to save money.- I'm glad I don't have to worry about the inflatable ring on an easy-set pool deflating, and washing out my yard. The frame pools have low, narrow walls that are easy to climb over and easy to see over, unlike the inflatable ring. They assemble withpout tools. You can also wrap your arms over the side, etc, so I think this is a much better pool. You can just sit on the bottom and have the water come up below your chin, so it's perfect size and all we need. I picked a half-sun/half shade spot and the temp has been perfect. This fall I'll pull up my pad and adjust my remaining level issue, but it's great buy and I use it daily.
