Great Resource for every Digital Marketing Stakeholder
If you are anyway involved with digital marketing and your company leverages Adobe SiteCatalyst for web analytics then you should buy this book! It doesn't matter if you are a novice or a power user, the Adobe Analytics with SiteCatalyst Classroom in Book is unquestionably worth the money and time. Vidya does a great job of making the complex topics digestible for the non technical user. Most companies I consult with barely scratch the surface when it comes to leveraging the business value that SiteCatlyst can provide to improve the consumer experience and improve business results. It takes time with resources like this one to gain insight as to how to define, measure, analyze and improve performance with the confidence of a seasoned professional.Marty TerbrackCEO, Digital Marketing, Inc.

There were no example databases to work the book against. If they gave examples one could follow against the example and learn quicker. Also there was no trial license given so that one could only read and not know how to use.

Some good info, but short on the more technical aspects of it. A good piece on the strategy if you are new to the space.

A quality offering, but could be better
My first instinct with most technical books is to look for terms in the index. Terms I've had trouble with. So, I went looking for dimensions, variables, conversion variables, sProps and so on. And I was terribly disappointed.I was about to throw the book into the ceiling fan, as we used to do in high school. At the end of the year we would toss the book into the ceiling fan and rejoice at the shredding of the book into pieces. Not a very responsible thing to do. For it probably damaged the fan motors. But we were just kids. So, as an adult might do, I started flipping through the book and slowly I encountered most of those troubling terms I was looking for clarifications on. It's refreshing to find a well written book. And this is one of those books. The book is beautifully produced, as is the case with all of the Adobe/Pearson publications.I deducted a star because of a few gaps I found in the content. I still haven't run into a reference to dimensions (except in the foreword), which is a key part of Adobe Analytics. Perhaps it's a function of when this book was published (2013) and dimensions were introduced later on. Also, "image requests" are referenced on page 36 but I don't recall any explanation of what they are (they're essentially "tags" you place on pages to capture visitor behavior). The entire paragraph on "standard metrics" seems to come out of nowhere with phantom references "remember that ..." to topics that were never previously discussed. Either way, I'll come back and revise my review if and when I find additional information that happens to be material to my score for this book.Meanwhile, if anyone reading this review has pertinent information, please feel free to comment. I will not take offence and will gladly revise my review.

Beginners Only - Not for the intermediate user
This book is oriented more towards the beginner. I was hoping for some tips and tricks but sadly there weren't many
