External display lags and mouse pointer skips UPDATE: It's all about the refresh rate
Updated to add what I have learned over the last year:I bought this to connect a 4k Dell external monitor to a 27 inch 5k iMac with USB-C ports. Previously, I had used the Dell-supplied Thunderbolt 2 to DisplayPort connector, and that worked well. With the purchase of a new iMac, Thunderbolt 2 was gone and USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) was its replacement. The setup for this cable was easy, and the picture quality was good, but the mouse would skip across the screen as if there was some sort of communications lag. Dragging files and windows, even editing text on the external monitor would be annoying because it wasn't nearly as responsive as the iMac's beautiful built-in display. After a year of various operating system updates and other tinkering, I figured out that this lagging was caused by the external display running at 30 Hz instead of the regular 60 Hz of the build-in display. On newer versions of MacOS, Apple doesn't let you select the refresh rate; it just chooses for you, but if you drill into the menu of the display itself you can find out it is running at a reduced frequency. When I had first purchased this product, I just decided for whatever reason USB-C to HDMI wasn't a good fit for my equipment, and I switched to a USB-C to DisplayPort cable, which solved my problem. Then the problem came back when I upgraded to Mac OS 10.15. After more research, I discovered the refresh rate was the problem. I fixed it by opening up the "Display" pane in System Preferences, holding the Option key, and clicking "Detect Displays." That brought the refresh rate back up to 60 Hz.Having learned this, I tried the same thing with this product (USB-C to HDMI). Forcing the Mac to re-detect the display did help, and the display started telling me it was running at 2160p resolution (but no indication of refresh rate). The mouse and windows still skipped around but not nearly as badly as they did the first time I tried this cable.Bottom line: if you're on a Mac with USB-C, it's still probably better to use USB-C to DisplayPort if you can, but if your display only has HDMI, then force the machine to re-detect the display after you connect it, and it will be better.

Not HDCP compliant - Otherwise excellent
EDIT: They have updated their description to reflect that the cable is not HDCP compliant so I have updated my review to reflect this. The cable has worked flawlessly since arrival displaying my 2017 MBP to my external monitor, with the exception of streaming DRM protected media from Netlflix or Amazon over the cable. This cable has one major drawback, which is that it is not HDCP compliant so if you want to stream Netflix or Amazon Prime over it to an external monitor or TV it will fail. This is not mentioned in the product description, which would lead consumers to believe the cable is HDCP compliant since that is the current standard. If they were upfront about this originally I would have given it 5/5 stars, but since they hid this fact the review stands as is.HOWEVER if you have no plans to watch Amazon Prime or Netflix while this cable is plugged into your laptop you will be okay. It works well and I have had no other issues with it.

Updated: Connector works well after replacement
***SECOND EDIT: Purchased in September 2017, it's now a full year later and it finally died. For $16 I guess I can't be too upset.***EDIT: Through their own volition, Victek reached out and offered a replacement cable for free. The new cable works perfectly so it looks like just an issue with that one cable. I've updated my original 2 star review to 5 stars for the service. Thank you Victek - you made it right and I appreciate it.-- Original Review --A few times an hour the screen will go black because I decided to move the computer half an inch. The connector to the USB-C is terrible. It isn't the computer either because the other adapters I have all seem to work regardless of the computer moving. It connects better than two other connectors I've bought before, however, so its like picking the least poisonous poison.

Now it's working
Updated Review:I have been sent a new cable by the seller and so far it is working perfectly and not displaying any of the issues the first cable had. I have tested it with my MBP with two different monitors and works great with both. Now I can perform my work duties much easier with my extended monitor again!First Review:This cable is not working for me with my new MBP 15" with a Dell S2440 monitor. It is not plug and play like I expected. I got it to work once by restarting my computer with it already plugged in, but the display would go black randomly. I am sitting here right now trying to get it to work still. I have plugged it into all 4 different ports on my laptop. The external monitor will flicker on for about 10 seconds, then go black. I purchased this based on the good reviews, so I'm assuming I received a bad cable. I have unplugged and replugged in the hdmi side on the monitor as well, with no luck.

Solid connectors, able to withstand abuse, image quality perfect as expected
There seems to be little/no difference in image quality between the varying brands I have tried in HDMI cables, so my primary concern has become fitment issues at the connection sites. I have had 3 HDMI cables in the past that have suffered connector issues; becoming loose with use and needing to jiggle the connector to work. I am admittedly probably more rough on my cables than the average user, plugging in and unplugging the connectors 5-10 times a week, but I feel that it really speaks to build quality when a cable can stand up to my use/abuse. This cable has thus far kept its tight tolerances and feels solid each time it is connected. As an aside, my dog chewed on the cable and mangled it a bit, but I haven't noticed any deterioration in image quality or transmission speed. Doesn't mean much, but I figured it was worth mentioning.
