Omix-ADA 13510.29 Strap, Front Rear Bow, Pair for 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ : desertcart.in: Car & Motorbike Review: The hardest part was not so much installing the new bow straps, but removing the old rivets that held the old one. Once removed, I wasn’t able to use the screws provided to install the new ones because the holes were too wide. So I made a trip to Home Depot and bought (2) 10 pack of the #10-1/2 sheet metal screws (the non-self drilling) for like $1.18 a pack and they fit perfectly snug to hold the straps down. The soft top is much tighter now and I notice the front clamps are more harder to close than before. My old straps were original and were ripped when I first got my 1999 TJ in 2009. I wasn’t sure if those straps were crucial to the operation of the soft top since it goes up and down no problem. However once I figured out what they were for I began looking and found these ones and ordered them. They make a difference in the sound for sure. It doesn’t stop the wind noise on the top but it did reduce it noticeably. I think the price was a little high for what you are actually getting but at least I won’t have to replace these for a long time. Review: Or at least better than what I had! The straps on mine were broke when I bought the jeep. Have resisted replacing the top for years. But now that I am, bought these and they are perfect! If you can, do yourself a favor. Get some 1/8" aluminum pop rivets and back up plates and do this right. Mine had 1 screw in the front bow that secures the little plastic end on the bow, so that's the only screw that I used. See pictures for final results and see the old OEM junk.

Fitment of the straps is perfect and worked perfect with my Bestop replace-a-top on my 04'. The screws that were included however would not tighten down due to the frame's thickness being so thin. The original straps were rivited, so I just used some 1/8" aluminum rivets and some washers.... Worked perfect! If Omix-Ada would include the proper rivets with the straps it would be a solid 5 star product.

If you own the older TJ models the strap between the front and back brace will break, the material get rotten and next thing you know your snaps on the back window are on the top, not the side. Installation was super easy. I used a cold chisel and hammer to knock out the existing rivets and the screws fit tightly in the holes. One tip, make sure the top is loose before starting and everything fits nicely. Total project took about 30 minutes.

Bought these straps even though others said they disintegrated, they were not lying. When I received them, they looked great and matched the originals pretty well. They went in easily and even provided new screws, that is where the one star part of this review stops. Purchased them on March 1st, 2024 and they both have disintegrated. The original ones lasted +20 years. I would love to have my money back.
