TILE-IN SQUARE SHOWER DRAIN

This high quality drain far outweighs the standard products available in the plumbing aisles. We've since installed this in several custom bath/shower remodels. Its square grid design is much more modern and fits beautifully with almost all tile patterns and the collar accommodates a variety of tile thicknesses. Great solid construction, heavy duty throughout and the drain finish is high quality as well.The plumber found it very easy to install and it looks so much better than the standard caulked in drain, so much easier to keep clean as well. It's also nicer to look down into the drain and rather than seeing cheap PVC or jagged mortar, you look into a smooth, grey receptacle. It just feels cleaner and aesthetically more pleasing.

Looks grate (hahaha- pun intended)! It is grey PVC, so make sure you connect it to PVC pipes with PVC glue, not ABS. I had no problems installing it (traditional shower pan with pre-slope mortar bed/40 mil liner/second mud bed). Cover it with blue painters tape until tiled, then remove tape so no thinset is stuck to the tape and re-cover it once dry for grouting. I only wish they could have made the inside grey PVC of the drain brown. I guess that's too much to ask for. It looks good for a decent price and was worth it to not have a chintzy round drain in our remodeled bath with all ORB fixtures.

I removed a stupid garden tub and added a walk-in shower, so needed a floor drain, this worked great, just make sure you are careful to install it parallel to your shower walls, so it is not cock-eyed. I was a design engineer for industrial facilities, and the contractor always had trouble aligning the drain parallel to the wall, so I specified a round drain...you can't screwed that up, but tile work is a bit harder....but a home owner has 100% control so go for it.

Love this drain used it in a few finishes on project. My tiler has no issues using it. It has a great finished look for the price point and one of the only drains that comes in polished nickel!

I chose this drain for our shower remodeling (converted tub to a walk-in shower). The contractors were able to easily install the drain and tile around it. The drain fits in perfect and has a nice look/feel. I really like the ability to remove the top two screws and lift the cover to clean out the inside of the drain.Two items I don't like about the drain:1. The holes/squares on the grid are big (I am not even sure how it compares to others - maybe this size is normal2. I cannot find any square covers to catch hair. The only ones I see are round coversOverall, it is a solid and well built drain and does the job. No regrets about purchasing it.

Bought the cheapo one at H-D and decided I was not putting THAT into the shower I had worked so hard on. This looks great, feels solid. The bronze matches the plumbing fixtures in the shower. The grill is slightly concave to match the slope of the shower floor. CAVEAT: this does not use the standard 4-1/2" hole that most drains do. I had already cut mine and had to modify it. Not a huge deal. If I had to guess - I'd say 4-5/8" to 4-3/4". Or you could grind a little off the nobs where the screws go in.

I purchased this for a custom shower install using square mosaic tile for the shower floor. This is a truly square drain, making tile cutting and placement much easier. Additionally, the drain frame is about ¼" thick (more or less) aluminum or stainless, with a removable and replaceable grid insert (also thick). This is more expensive than the Home Depot & Lowes stamped sheet metal drains that are round (even if you use the square cover). However, it is worth it for the much higher quality and longevity it offers.The lower assembly is gray PVC of standard pipe sizing. My install was onto an existing standpipe already set into the concrete basement floor. I only needed the upper assembly, and was able to simply unscrew this portion and mate it to a gray PVC adapter (electrical conduit to allow full threadding capability). This allowed me to easily set the depth and square it up by twisting it.Once set, the gap was filled with thin-set and sealed.5 stars for this being of much better quality and style than the typical drains out there, and for its versatility.

This is a really nice drain. We got it to match a square headed shower unit (made by Delta who strangely do not make a matching square drain). While the description aptly names it, "Vibrant Polished Nickel" it is not as pewter/grey as the photo would suggest, more half way between the two in tone. The photo looked more matte-like, similar to a brushed metal. When it came out of the box I thought they'd sent me the chrome instead (because it was so shiny) but when I held it beside a piece of chrome I could see that it was subtly different. The quality is good and it looks great installed, it does look more matte/brushed in the photo than in the hand, but again, the description is accurate, just not the photo as much.

Gorgeous color - perfectly matches our brushed gold fixtures by Delta. Received product within two days! Price was far better than if purchased at a hardware store.

Drain is exactly as illustrated. Grating is heavy and nicely finished. Way, way, tooo expensive, though!! I'd say triple what it should cost!!

The installation was a breeze and because you can adjust it up and down, the tiles got perfectly leveled with it.

Much better quality than the in stock ones at Home Depot, very heavy construction, and is height is adjustable like the in stocks, it didn't give this detail in description. Well worth the money,
