Everyone needs to read this
I rarely if ever write reviews. I'm on the last few chapters of this book, which I've devoured over the last few days, and I needed to come here and write a review. These are such important stories for people across the country and world to hear. Although those of us who weren't directly impacted by 9/11 will never understand what these people went through, this book truly gets us a lot closer to understanding. I think I'll hold onto it and re-read it every September. I can't recommend it enough, but of course readers need to be aware that it is extremely heavy content and not for the faint of heart. But it's reality, it's what happened, and people need to know.

Beautifully written
I originally saw these first responders on a television program about 9/11. The book was causally mentioned. I was curious, and I was not let down. These is not for the faint of heart, but speaks from the heart of those that will continue to relive 9/11/01 for the rest of their lives. Hauntingly beautiful, this left me speechless

Hard to read how many losses on that terrible day.
Learned much more from those survivors. Bless them all…

I love this book, and I haven’t even read it
I haven’t read it yet but I was born on 911 and I hate the pain that people experience and the lost they have to live with forever. But it’s definitely a inspiration to be there for someone despite color,...etc just care for everyone be a help hand from the heart. I highly recommend this seller fast shipping

True stories of heroism from the people who lived it.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I look back on the events of that horrible day, and it still causes me to feel melancholic even though I was not in NYC at the time. The people who told their stories for this book bring us, the readers, directly into their lives. For many, it was the single worst day of their entire existence.Although I pray there will never be another 9/11 comparable event, I wish our Nation could go back to being as patriotic, loving, forgiving, and cohesive as we were during the weeks following the attacks. Many of the people whose stories are in the book mention this also. "...united we stand, divided we fall".

Read this one first
Last year I decided to read a few books on 9/11. I wanted to better understand that day from different viewpoints. It is, as of this date, the single worst tragedy of my lifetime. Of the half dozen or more books I read none affected me as greatly as this one. It still haunts me. There's no way for me to describe what it did inside me except to say I felt, tasted, and walked through each scene and every word left its mark. I'll read it again but not soon. It's lodged itself in me still. Its images still very clear. It's the first and last book you'll want to read about that day.

we're not leaving
This is a sad book to read, but I have learned that it was not just the people inside the Twin Towers that where hurt. The people that where there, like the police, firemen, labor workers, or just anyone still suffer from that day. Not only are the having trouble with what all they saw, but also from getting sick from all the dust and what it carried in it. I have had to put down the book sometimes and just quite reading it. I have also cried from what I have read. I would say get the book and read it.

Amazing Read
I read this book while being at a VA Hospital for my father in law. He was in ICU. While there I saw soldiers who were wounded physically fighting the war started by the terrorists. This book made me cry... so many stories. Very well written.
