Simply the BEST, better than all the rest
After only having the A74 for only a few months here are my opinions, First I do like the ergonomic changes, I am comparing it to my other camera an A73. The picture quality is outstanding, but the video quality for me is the standout feature. I can absolutely not the difference between the 8bit of the A73 compared to the 10bit of the A74. The menu system as many have mentioned is a very intuitive upgrade. The eye autofocus is spectacular, it worked 95 percent of the time for me the only time the eye autofocus struggled was in a few situations of dramatic backlighting. Since I bought mine recently and its about a few years old I was able to get mine at a significant discount so I feel like the value proposition is incredible because this is an awesome camera. As a photographer for a few decades now I remember a time when batteries lasted for weeks so my perception of battery life is a bit skewed, however I must admit when I consider that there is a high pixel flip out monitor and an EVF electronic view finder the battery life isn't too bad. I can go a couple of days if I am only taking photos, if I am exclusively shooting video I would need a few batteries for a full day of shooting. In conclusion as a hybrid shooter this is an awesome camera, the only drawback is the crop when shooting 4k 60fps, the rolling shutter and that in certain situations the eye autofocus struggles. With all that being said this is still one of the best cameras I have ever used.

High quality images and videos
The Sony camera is an absolute gem for both amateur and professional photographers alike. Its sleek design is paired with cutting-edge technology that delivers stunning image quality, even in low light. The autofocus is lightning-fast and incredibly accurate, making it perfect for capturing crisp, detailed shots on the go. The intuitive menu system and customizable controls make it user-friendly, while still offering advanced features for those who want more creative control. Whether you’re shooting portraits, landscapes, or video, this camera performs like a dream. Lightweight yet powerful—it’s a reliable companion for every adventure. Highly recommended!

Dream come true!
It is truly a dream come true! Before purchasing, I did a lot of research, and I can confidently say it was totally worth it. The image quality is incredible with its full-frame sensor, and the autofocus is fast and accurate. I love the versatility of interchangeable lenses, and the camera feels solid and comfortable to hold. Even though it’s a renewed model, it looks and performs like new. If you’re serious about photography and looking for a top-tier mirrorless camera, I highly recommend this one!

My New Favored Camera
I am in love with this camera. this is my first camera from Sony. For a while i have been using cannon for most of the time. Decided to switch and will never regret my decision. The camera just feels so premium and the video quality... let me just say, you pay for what you get.

Scam - DO NOT BUY
This is a review for the seller, not the camera. My camera stopped working abruptly a week after being delivered. Their customer service was totally unhelpful - they asked me to send them pictures and gave no solutions. I was out of the country with my camera and it stopped working, what if I was there shooting for work??? On top of all of it, THE SERIAL NUMBER DOES NOT GET VERIFIED BY SONY AND WHEN I ASKED THE SELLER ABOUT IT THEY DIDN'T EVEN ADDRESS IT. Save yourself some time and money and do not buy from them. THEY SUCK. I never really write reviews but I am extremely unhappy with how much this inconvenienced me and how scammed I feel.

Great vs Nikon D800
I finally decided to upgrade from my D800 to a newer camera body. The only requirement I had was that it needed to be able to use my existing lenses, Nikon F mount, from times past. There is a Monster adapter that has a AF screw allowing me to use ALL my nikkor lenses on a sony E mount body. Nikon doesn't even have this. I cannot mount my 135mm 1:2 D AF DC Nikkor lens on any modern mirrorless camera by nikon. I do not understand why Nikon would screw me over by not supporting any of my mainstay lenses on their newer bodies, but they did. Anyway, Sony to the rescue. This A7IV is much faster, around 10 fps, 4 fps faster than my d800. Even in low light. The greatest downside about this body vs my D800 is that it isn't ergonomic. It is so small it is hard to hold and control. It does not fit my (5'7" Amercian of European Descent) hands like a D800. It requires me to go through menus to do what I can do with button on the D800. The battery life is half that of the D800, even though the battery is the same size and more modern.

Really Great Camera Body With Lots Of Upgrade Over Previous Model
I have shot with an A6500, an A7III, and now the A7IV - this is a bigger upgrade over the A7III than I anticipated! The photo image quality is noticeably better, not only are the images bigger 33MP vs 24MP, but the high ISO noise performance is much improved and the AF is better. For video the A7IV steps things up big time with 10-bit footage and being able to grab 4K60 is really nice. The video files are fantastic looking - very close to those out of one of the Cine models (FX30, FX3) - the A7III can't touch the quality of these video files!
