Worked great!!!!
I used this item to pull fence post out of the ground. Here is what I used. There 6' fence post from hardware store. 1 ton come along/fence stretcher I bought for about $35.00 from an auto parts store. Heavy D ring from hardware store. Two 5 inch lag bolts and two nylon straps about 12 inches in length.Screwd the D ring to the wooden fence post with the two lag bolts after I cut the fence post aff right above the ground. I Attached the comealong to the top of the part I bought ( it had a built it ring on it) and the bottom to the D ring other post and jacked the old post out of the ground. I did use a spade shovel a few times to clear some dirt off the top of the posts but not much. This worked amazingly well. Picture added. Did remove a round metal post too. Drilled a hole towards the bottom of the post and put a piece of 3/8 regarding through the hole. Put the nylon straps around the rear. Pulled the post and concrete right out of the ground. Around $100.00 total for everything. Pulled 4 post in about 20 minutes. One post was pulled out of the concrete but the hole was easy to clear without the post in the way.

Very sturdy unit that fulfills the intended purpose.
The tripod header is certainly sturdy and well built. I didn’t like that the nuts securing the pulley and the eye bolt to the top plate were not turned down far enough. There was a 3/16 inch length of bolt thread exposed. The nut does not turn either so I could not reduce the gap. It must be welded to the bolt. This doesn’t affect the functionality of the device, but I don’t like the metal to metal noise when it is tilted. They could have turned the nut farther down the bolt thread before welding it in place.

Seriously Over Engineered - Superb Stump Puller
This is possibly the best purchase I've made in a decade.I wanted to pull some stumps with a tripod and chain hoist. First stump, no problem. Second larger stump, from a 14 inch diameter spruce, using a 1 ton hoist....bent the 1 inch galvanized steel support pipes. Upgradedpipes to 1 1/4 inch (this is max size that fits the tripod head), and upgraded hoist to 3 ton, and that stump gotripped right out.I suppose you can use this to lift a deer, too.For others looking to max their setup and pull stumps: 1 1/4 pipe cut to 7 feet with floor flanges added. 6400 lbs logging chain for the stump. Possibly replace ring bolt in tripod head. I can't tell if mine was cross threaded orwelded on, but I couldn't get it off. Estimating 2.25 tons of pull on the last stump and the ring didn't fail, butI know that is the weak rated component of the system left. For $30+ this is a steal. I'd need custom welding work done to have anything better.

Worth its weight in gold
Currently removing posts for a new fence. We are on a hill with difficult access, even with mini-loader. So all has to be done by hand. Because soil was added over the years, concrete is as deep as 36 inches (2 to 3 60lbs bags). Using the tripod with 3 x 5ft pipes and a hoist, was able to extract the concrete without disturbing the soil around it too badly. The Tripod is solid. The hoist reached its limit without issue for the tripod. The hooks are pretty small so get some D ring shackles if you want to hook a bigger item.
