Way better than a sponge filter.
I have a betta that LOVES sitting against filter intakes and demolishing his fins, and this has been a life-saver. Great quality, quiet, and a good value for the price. I have it in running on a nano air pump and still have plenty of capacity to throttle the flow down for my betta. I don’t really think the double stack has much benefit vs the single. The uplift pipe does not extend into the lower compartment so you don’t get much flow through it. So just go with the smaller size. Swap the gravel out for your ceramic bio media. Put course sponge in the middle and top with a little filter floss and you’ll have no issues keeping your tank clean. It works perfectly in my 6 gal. Much cleaner than a sponge filter that splooges goop every time you take it out for maintenance.

Clearwater, Happy Fish: My aquarium filter review.
I recently purchased a 20-gallon fish tank, And I have been looking for a decent filter when I came this one Pawfly Aquarium Corner Sponge Filter Which I purchased off from Amazon. I've been using the filter, for approximately three weeks with everything working wonderfully. at the time my tank was very cloudy, so I purchased and I'm very pleased with this product. It cleared the tank out within a week after I bought it. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for something for 10 or a 20-gallon tank.

Quiet, Effective Filter for Shrimp or Betta Tanks
This corner sponge filter is a great option for smaller tanks where you want gentle filtration without strong flow. I’m using it in a shrimp setup, and it works very well. The included bio-media (ceramic rings and stones) is a nice bonus and helps with biological filtration. It runs quietly once connected to an air pump. Pros: Excellent for fry, shrimp, and bettas Gentle flow and very quiet Includes extra filter media Simple to install and clean If you’re running a planted or breeder tank, this is a dependable filter choice.

Exceeded all expectations.
This actually has exceeded all my expectations and has worked way better than expected. I have not had to take it out to clean it. It keeps my tank clean and fits into the corner perfectly. What more could you ask for in a simple filter? I am definitely satisfied. And I would definitely recommend this two others and already have recommended it to others! Definitely worth it! And as far as filters go, it looks great in the corner, behind some plants! And it is extremely durable.

Replacement white filter layer is worthless
The filter worked fine in a 5 gallon fish aquarium. The white filter didn't last very long. The replacement white filter is SO thin even two of them stacked together is thinner than the original white filter. VERY disappointed. The black filters are fine and similar to what came with the filter. No way would this filter handle a 30 gallon tank.

I don’t have many negatives to say about this sponge filter. It works very well with my air pump and quickly cleared the dust from my cycling aquarium after first adding Fluval Stratum (stratum heavily mucks up the water at first, like the water was black). The sponge provides lots of surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize, and my bladder snail babies seem to love grazing on and around it, I’m sure my future shrimp will too. The shape is pretty unique which is great for keeping in a corner. My only minor complaint and the reason for losing a star is that you need to do a DIY minor modification if you want to use an air stone inside, which I wish was built in from the start. If you don’t use an air stone you risk having your sponge filter sound like a witches brew or something rather than light bubbling. (The white bag on top of it in my photo is just a small media bag full of crushed oyster shells I’m using for raising KH)

All 3 sizes use the same standard air tubing. I bought the big one for my 36 gal, 2 medium sized ones for my 20 gal, 1 medium sized for my 10 gal and I bought the tiny corner one for my 2.5 gal but I think it’s too big for the 2.5 gal. I think 5 gal would be perfect for the little one. Very easy to set up. I have a tiny pump for the med size one and a full sized, not huge pump for the big one. I also recommend getting the valves so you can set the air flow.

Just got this, will update how well it works after a week. Will say it has some good weight to it, was expecting a hollow plastic base but it has weights inside. Planning the airstone mod, and my Nicrew mini air pump came with a 25mm stone, but you will need something under 20mm to fit. 20mm would be a tight squeeze. I'd aim for 18mm at most. Bought this for the corner of a 5.5gal tank, that had a nice hanging pump that came with it, but I have Celestial Danios, and I started to notice babies that are insanely small, so, switching to this.
