I Love Mushroom Coffee! Here are my Honest Thoughts…
I recently decided to give Mud Wtr a try after seeing all the hype online. Here are my honest thoughts:1) Taste:If you enjoy earthy, herbal flavors, you might like Mud Wtr. It has a unique taste that's unlike coffee but can be interesting for those who appreciate a more natural, chai-like experience. However, for me, the taste was too bland and earthy, almost like drinking a mix of dirt and spices. Even with sweeteners and milk, I struggled to finish a cup. It just doesn’t have that satisfying flavor profile I crave in the morning.2) Ingredients and Dosage:They state that each serving contains 2,000mg of mushroom extract, with 500mg per strain, and they’re transparent about it, so they pass in this category.3) Quality:This part is extremely important because it’s crucial to understand the level of quality of the mushroom extract you are paying for. Mud Wtr uses mushroom extract from mycelial biomass, which is the root-like structure of a fungus (mycelium) grown on a grain or other substrate. Unlike fruiting bodies, which are the actual mushrooms, mycelial biomass often includes the substrate it's grown on, resulting in a less potent product with lower concentrations of beneficial compounds. While each serving is 2,000mg, the level of potency is about 50-60% lower than what you get with extracts made from 100% fruiting bodies.4) Price and Value:At nearly $49 for a relatively small canister, I expected more in terms of flavor, quality, and benefits. When compared to my other favorite, Lucid Super Coffee — which contains 2,000mg of mushrooms plus 3,000mg of nootropics (superfuel for your brain) for around the same price — you’re getting much more for your money. Mud Wtr’s effects are pretty mild, but I do still enjoy it occasionally and think it’s a decent product that will stay in my cabinet to keep functional mushrooms in my life. However, Lucid has won my heart (at least for now) because I can actually FEEL the effects. My best advice is to pay attention to the dosage and quality of mushrooms, ensure brands are completely transparent about their ingredients, and always read the label!

Excellent Coffee Alternative with Great Taste and Benefits
This is one of the best coffee alternatives I’ve tried, and I’m giving it a solid 5 out of 5. While it has significantly less caffeine than a regular cup of coffee, it truly stands out compared to other adaptogenic morning drinks. Many alternatives tend to taste unpleasant or don’t mix well, but this product excels in both areas. The flavor is enjoyable—not exactly like coffee, but it caters well to those looking for a satisfying substitute. It mixes seamlessly with hot water, and you can easily add creamer if desired. The functional benefits from ingredients like lion’s mane and other adaptogens are another huge plus, making it a great addition to a morning routine. My only minor complaint is the container size—it feels a bit small for the price, and I wish there was an option to purchase a larger quantity. Overall, though, this product is worth it for the taste, quality, and health benefits!

Really is like drinking dirty water
Terrible. Overpriced. Tastes like drinking dirt water, chalky, doesn't dissolve well. Like legit go in your backyard grab some dirt, let it dry really good (no clay content). Mash it up, grind it into a fine powder, put it into water, stir, froth and drink. You have this. No wonder they dubbed it mud/wtr. This is like legit the first negative review I have ever given in my life. Ya’ll. The only good thing about this product is the smell, packaging, and adverts. Do better! If you made your product great you’d have a winning combo. I am still gonna finish it because I spent over 40 bucks, but definitely will not be a repeat buyer. Was expecting something a little more bold.

Great Taste
I like the taste. I don't have a frother and don't care to buy one at least not yet. That said, it doesn't mix well, but I didn't expect it to. I'm ok w/ sludge on the bottom. I swirl my cup periodically. I actually add it to my coffee after it's brewed to stack the flavors. I don't like the lid of the can. It's very hard to get off initially and even if I leave it not all the way snapped "on", it's still really hard to get off each time I use it. I think the product is super expensive. I wonder if the cost will come down after mushroom coffees have been around for a while. But maybe the harvesting of the ingredients is expensive? I was put off by the lead warning on the label. It's non-GMO, GF, organic, vegan. But...the threat of lead. Jeesh!

IMO, tastes terrible. Isn't better than diy mix. Expensive.
I wanted to try mudwtr for a while, but was scared of the complaints re: unauthorized charges & poor/non-existent customer service. So I tried Amazon.I've been diy-ing mushroom coffee, buying powdered mushroom, protein powder & shaking them into my morning coffee. I was intrigued by the description, "if chai & cacao had a baby", but mudwtr's flavor is pretty bad imo. When I think of chai, I think of the warming, "sweet" spices like cinnamon & ginger. But the taste of mudwtr is turmeric & cardamom, both of which kind of make me sick [turmeric tastes bitter -- in a bad way -- to me & cardamom gives me a sick headache]. There's a texture of cacao, but i suppose my palate isn't sophisticated enough to detect the flavor of cacao.I'm guessing the taste is why mudwtr also sells sweetener & creamer. As far as health benefits, I have NOT had a decline in GI tract health, mental acuity, or general energy; so their adaptogens are doing a good job. But I haven't seen an increase either. My diy mix is <1/2 the cost, & I really like the taste. I'm heading back to the grocery store for my homemade stuff 😋PS you don't need the frothing whisk. You don't even need a shaker ball. Just burn 10 kcal shaking your bottle vigorously for a few seconds.
