Had to shorten a hose to use for my in pool skimmer contraption that catches all the stuff from the cleaner before it gets sucked into the skimmer basket. Worked perfectly.

I bought this 1.5” female hose ends so that I could cut down an old vacuum hose that had broken ends to a length that was just long enough to do the deep end and most of one side of the shallow end. Motivation was to be able to clean the section of the pool that accumulated 90 percent of the debris in a very short period of time. The hose that was sufficiently long to reach the entire pool was difficult to unwind and fought me the entire time. So I cut off the two broken ends of an older hose, and then cut short that same hose (all cuts were made with ease using a hacksaw with a fine tooth metal blade).I then screwed these couplers onto the raw hosing. I believe they screw on counter clockwise. I gave it little chance that this was going to work but, for the price, I thought it was worth a try. They screwed onto the hose all the way to the depth of their collars - snug, tight, water tight. It was a “factory fit”. The shortened hose is working flawlessly and these couplers don’t move or wiggle as I attach themthem to the vacuum head and the skimmer plate - or when I take them off of same, even under suction.And finally, the hope that a just right length hose that covered 90+percent of the debris field (65 percent of the pool bottom) would make vacuuming easier was realized. I can unwind the small hose readily, prime it, vacuum - never getting tripped up or floated off bottom by excess hose - and have it wound back in the barrel I store it in - in about 15 minutes - 1/3 the time it was taking with a full length hose.These couplers allowed me to turn a derelict hose (broken ends) into a hose that makes pool cleaning quick and easy.

This is hard plastic. It doesnt bend and flex at all. When you insert this onto something, like a vacuum or leaf canister, if the size is a little too small or big, it won’t stretch at all to fit.

Being a non-flexible plastic it is difficult to keep connected. I wouldn't have bought them if I had read the specs . I assumed they were flexible like others I have bought. Maybe they were meant for a glued connection.

Not sure they fit or will be used .
