Spirit Stain Rainbow Colors for Wood (Purple)

I have used this stain on a number of turned projects and the bottom line is I like it. I get an even coating and the color is gorgeous. Others have also commented positively about the color as well. A little does go a LONG way so don't get carried away, you can always add more depending on the depth of color you're looking for.One caution, be careful opening the bottle. There's a plug under the cap that is tricky to remove without spilling the contents. Yes, personal experience. Other than that I like this stain and would buy more in the future. This review also holds true for the red stain that I bought.

Even though I read the directions/caution regarding removing the plunge that seals the bottle in transport, it still slipped from me and I spilled half the bottle all over the kitchen sink and my favorite sweatshirt. Good news is that I immediately sprayed my sweatshirt with Spray-n-Wash, let it sit for several minutes and then soaked it in hot detergent and water for several hours and the stain came out completely. 'whew!. The stain itself went on to the sanded clean table surface and was a nice purple....until it dried. It just looks like a deep brown. I'm disappointed about that.

I wanted to stain the base of a round wood kitchen drop-leaf table yellow but leave the top natural (just with a wipe-on polyurethane). Found this product and am so pleased with how easy it is, came in a convenient size container and gave me the color I wanted but allowing the nice wood grain to show. I highly recommend this stain as being true-to-color on light wood as well as easy to use. It did not raise the grain nor was the saturation hard to control.

I was looking for a purple stain that I could use for finishing some Purple Heart projects. This worked for what I wanted. It stained the wood and left the grain still visible, unlike other products that I tried prior to this. I was even more impressed when I applied a layer of varnish to the purple stain. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Practice first. I was using on mahogany and the color was a little on the silver side... not really unexpected but I couldn’t use white paint. I little fussy if you have distinct boundary’s you’re working with as it bleeds a bit. It has a lot of pigment but you still may need multiple coats.

This product did actually what it was suppose to do.... Cover or conceal furniture flaws. I only wish they had more colors available between white and off white.

Nice product, but it came out to dark. I used it on red oak which may have caused some of the color issues. Probably my fault for not wiping off the excess Will try on other projects to see if it improves.

This product has good color and works well. I like it. Delivery was good
